U.23 Vietnam won all group stage at SEA Games 33?

On October 19, the organizing committee of the 33rd SEA Games men's football held a draw ceremony, in which U.23 Vietnam was in group B with two opponents Malaysia and Laos, while group A included Thailand, Cambodia and East Timor; and Indonesia was in group C with Myanmar, the Philippines and Singapore.

According to the schedule published by the Organizing Committee, Group B will kick off with the opening match between Malaysia and Laos at 7:30 p.m. on December 4. The U.23 Vietnam team will officially start competing 3 days later, at 4:00 p.m. on December 7, against Laos.

Those will be 2 matches where U.23 Vietnam and Malaysia will both set the target of having 3 points even though Laos is progressing very quickly. That is almost a mandatory goal, to create momentum for the "final" match of the group between the two at 7:30 p.m. on December 11.

The men's football event at the 33rd SEA Games will take place on a total of 3 football fields, in 3 cities. Group A has the host team Thailand playing at the Tinsulanon Stadium with a capacity of 30,000 seats in Songkhla City.

Meanwhile, Group B and C have U.23 Vietnam and Indonesia competing at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Chiangmai City with a capacity of only 15,000 seats. With the match days alternating, this can be considered a good opportunity for the two U.23 teams of Vietnam and Indonesia to "test each other's legs".

This is very important because according to the branching method of the Organizing Committee, the possibility of U.23 Vietnam meeting Indonesia in the semi-finals is very high. The team that wins the semi-final match, may participate in the final match with the host team Thailand at Rajamangalaa Stadium in the capital Bangkok with a capacity of more than 51,000 seats.
