Holloway challenges the man who knocked him out. |
“We live in an entertainment industry,” Holloway told BlessedMMA. “If Ilia really wants to build his legacy, the time is now, right here. He did it once, but the truly great ones do it twice.”
This defiant statement came shortly after “Blessed” Holloway made an impressive comeback in late July 2025, defeating Dustin Poirier in “The Diamond’s” final match, successfully defending his BMF (Baddest Motherf***er) title.
That victory not only helped Holloway regain his position but also made UFC President Dana White admit: he is in a "very good position" to be given the opportunity to rematch with lightweight champion Ilia Topuria.
Holloway is currently one of the top contenders for a title shot against Topuria. And if the rematch takes place, the BMF belt is likely to be on the line as well - making the fight all the more exciting and meaningful.
However, Holloway is not the only name targeting Topuria. Paddy Pimblett - the rising talent of UFC, along with "destroyer" Justin Gaethje, are also actively competing in the race for the title.
However, with stable performance, top-level competition experience and the attraction of the BMF belt, Holloway has enough reason to confidently recreate one of the most anticipated matches in the UFC at the moment.
