To ensure relief goods are transported quickly and safely, Vietnam Railways Corporation prioritizes transporting relief goods on luggage wagons connected to Thong Nhat passenger trains and fast North-South freight trains.

Trains depart from key southern stations such as Saigon and Song Than and northern stations such as Hanoi and Giap Bat to deliver essential goods such as food, medicine, clothes, books and necessities... to people in the fastest way.

Relief goods will be transported to the nearest train station for the convenience of localities in receiving, loading, unloading and distributing goods.

To ensure that the support is carried out in the right direction, safely and effectively, Vietnam Railways Corporation recommends that organizations, businesses and charitable individuals send relief goods through the People's Committees, Fatherland Front Committees and Red Cross Societies of provinces and centrally-run cities. At the same time, limit long-distance truck transportation in the context of erratic weather in the South Central region, which poses a potential risk of insecurity. Organizing transportation yourself can cause insecurity and hinder rescue work.

Currently, Vietnam Railways Corporation continues to implement the program of free transportation of relief goods to the South Central provinces that are suffering heavy damage due to floods.

In another development, in response to the call for support for people in the Central provinces affected by storms and floods, many groups and individuals, including officials, civil servants, union members and workers in the agricultural and environmental sectors, have actively participated and supported. To date, the amount of money raised is more than 6.5 billion VND to be transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; of which, this time alone the support amount is more than 1.3 billion VND.

The Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union is currently continuing to call for and receive support from agencies, units and individuals in the industry to contribute to helping people soon stabilize their lives and restore production.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang emphasized that, with the spirit of solidarity and "mutual love", the Vietnam Agriculture and Environment Trade Union proactively coordinated with units to receive and transfer support funds to ensure publicity, transparency, and correct address.

Along with the relief work, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is directing units to urgently conduct field inspections and support localities in restoring agricultural production; in which, priority is given to supporting plant varieties, livestock and essential supplies so that people can soon sow, restock, restore production and restore livelihoods after storms and floods, meeting consumer demand during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
