According to the Department of Construction, from September 8 to 23, due to the impact of storms No. 8 and No. 9, Dak Lak province often had continuous heavy rains, causing many places on National Highway 29, from Km67 to Km150, to be muddy and severely damaged. Meanwhile, this route had many heavy-duty vehicles circulating, leading to traffic safety problems.

The Department of Construction has coordinated with localities to organize on-site inspections and verify the amount of damage. Through inspection, on National Highway 29, the section from Km67 to Km150 has potholes on the road surface, interspersed with large cracks, covering an area of about 6,755 m2 ; many ditches and eroded soil edges appear, posing a risk of damage to the asphalt concrete road surface. The Department of Construction has directed management and maintenance units to carry out temporary repair activities to ensure traffic for people to travel.
The project is invested by the Department of Construction; the total cost of implementation is about more than 4.15 billion VND, to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, handle traffic jams, ensure traffic, repair damage to road infrastructure to restore smooth and safe traffic activities as quickly as possible.
