To date, many credit institutions in Vietnam have over 90% of transactions conducted via digital channels. Currently, more than 77% of Vietnamese adults have bank accounts, more than 35 million payment accounts and nearly 15 million cards opened electronically are in operation. In 2023, mobile payments will increase by nearly 60% in quantity and nearly 13% in value, while payments via QR codes will increase by more than 240% in quantity and nearly 158% in value compared to the same period in 2022.

Non-cash payment activities and digital banking activities in the first months of 2024 have both grown compared to the same period in 2023. In recent times, the banking industry has also actively cooperated with the Ministry of Public Security to enhance security and safety in the process of popularizing banking services on digital platforms, thereby promoting the digital transformation process of the industry, serving socio-economic development.
