The People's Committee of Dong Thap province has just issued a plan for implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in 2025.

Accordingly, in 2025, Dong Thap will continue to implement and develop OCOP products to unleash the potential and advantages of rural areas; contributing to increasing people's income, restructuring the agricultural sector associated with the development of small-scale industries, trades, services and rural tourism.

According to the plan, this year, Dong Thap will continue to maintain, strengthen, and improve the quality of products that have achieved 3-5 star OCOP certification; striving to have at least 60 new products participate in the 2025 evaluation. Of these, 40 products will be 3-star and 20 products will be 4-star (each district and city will have at least 2 new products participating in the 4-star OCOP evaluation).

Dong Thap also supports at least 5 potential 5-star OCOP products in completing their dossiers for submission to the Central Government for evaluation and recognition as National OCOP products. The goal is to have at least 50% of OCOP products recognized in 2022 participate in the re-evaluation and reclassification process in 2025.

OCOP products that have been recognized and are still valid should continue to improve their quality; focus on developing key products with strengths to participate in the OCOP Program; effectively carry out trade promotion activities, encourage market expansion and product promotion.

To achieve the above goal, Dong Thap province has set key tasks and solutions focusing on developing OCOP products according to 6 product groups, prioritizing agricultural, non-agricultural, and service products, as well as key products with advantages in each locality, in a way that leverages internal resources and added value linked to community development.

According to this plan, the total estimated funding required to implement the OCOP Program in 2025 is over 8 billion VND.
