More than 82,000 social housing units are expected to be completed this year.

The information was stated by Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh at the Government's online conference with localities in September this morning (October 5).

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said the construction industry aims to complete more than 82,000 social housing units in 2025. Currently, the country has 69 social housing projects with about 135,000 units. The Ministry of Construction expressed its hope that localities will strive to complete more than 18,000 units this year to reach the target of 100,000 units.

Regarding the credit package for social housing as of the end of August this year, the Minister said that banks had disbursed 19,700 billion VND.

Recently, the Ministry of Construction selected 18 enterprises with good capacity to build social housing to introduce to localities such as Vingroup Corporation, Sun Group Corporation, Viglacera Company, Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUD), Hanoi Construction Corporation - JSC (HANCORP)...

The Ministry of Construction also proposed 15 localities with the highest demand for social housing in the country, including: Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Phu Tho, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Vinh Long, Dak Lak, Da Nang, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Quang Tri.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the enterprises were selected based on many criteria, in which strong financial capacity and the ability to mobilize capital to implement large-scale projects are prerequisites. In addition, these units must have experience implementing social housing projects, worker housing or urban areas with a scale of hundreds to thousands of apartments.

The Ministry of Construction emphasized that selected enterprises need to demonstrate their dedication, social responsibility and spirit of accompanying the Government in realizing the goal of housing security, and be willing to devote resources to long-term investment in this field.

Selected investors need to commit to long-term cooperation in the social housing development program for the period 2025-2030. At the same time, enterprises must have the capacity to build a closed value chain from planning, design, construction to operation and management, to ensure project quality, implementation progress and reasonable prices.
