Honda City is certified by the Vietnam Register in 2023 with different parameters than the current version.

Reduced to only 3 versions

Latest information from the Vietnam Register, Honda City 2023 has just been granted a quality certificate for the new car. From the technical specifications, it can be seen that this is a different version of the current car.

Honda City RS 2023 Specifications

Compared to the current version, Honda City 2023 will only have 3 versions (G, L and RS) instead of 4. Although the image is not shown, this is definitely an upgraded version of City. The dealer has accepted car deposits and revealed that City 2023 will be launched next June.

The most noticeable change is that the L and G versions of the new car will use all disc brakes instead of rear drums as before. The G version still maintains the rear disc brakes. In addition, the weight of the L version increases from 1.124 tons to 1.128 tons, while the RS version increases from 1.134 tons to 1.140 tons.

It seems that the vehicle's specifications will not change much when the overall dimensions of length x width x height are 4,589 x 1,748 x 1,467 mm, the same as the current version. The rims used are still 16 inches, tire size 185/55R16. The engine is the same as the vehicle on sale, 1.5L, 119 horsepower, and front-wheel drive.

In addition, the Honda City 2023 in Vietnam will still maintain a mechanical handbrake, not the electronic type like the car launched in India.

Strong upgrade in safety

Although information from the Vietnam Register did not announce detailed equipment of the City 2023. However, the dealer revealed that the new City has the Honda Sensing safety package but the features are unknown.

If similar to the model that shares the same platform as the HR-V, this Sensing package will include automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams and smart cruise control. These are also features on the City 2023 that is on sale in India.

Before Honda City, the newly launched upgraded Toyota Vios has been equipped with two advanced driver assistance technologies: pre-collision warning and lane departure warning. Having Honda Sensing will help City increase its competitiveness compared to its rivals, especially the Hyundai Accent.

According to sales reports from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and TC Motor, in the first 4 months of 2023, Honda City is the second best-selling model in the segment with sales of 3,588 vehicles.

In addition, we can expect the exterior changes of the Honda City 2023 in Vietnam to be similar to India, with redesigned front/rear bumpers, a refined grille interface and new-style milled rims. The RS version also has a more solid rear end with a large wind diffuser.

The expected selling price of the car has not been revealed, but with the above upgrades, the City 2023 will likely have a higher selling price than the current one. Honda City G, L and RS are currently priced at 529, 559 and 599 million VND respectively.
