Honda supports 70 electric motorbikes for university

The Japanese company supported 70 Honda PCX electric motorbikes for the University of Transport Technology, to serve research, teaching and learning, on March 8.

The handover ceremony of 70 electric PCX vehicles took place at the University of Transport Technology, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi. The event was attended by Mr. Le Van Duong, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, along with leaders of the Department of Transport and other ministries and branches.

At the event, Honda Vietnam handed over 70 PCX electric motorbikes to representatives of the University of Transport Technology. These models will be used for the project "Evaluating the effectiveness of testing green transport models with two-wheeled electric vehicles", in collaboration with Green Mobility Vietnam Company. This project aims to study the process of converting electric vehicles in the inner city.

A representative of Honda Vietnam (HVN) said that through the program, the Japanese company wants to contribute to improving the quality of training in the field of transportation, aiming at the goal of carbon neutrality of Honda globally and the Vietnamese government . In addition, this is also a favorable condition to support lecturers and students in practical research and application of new technology.

Specifically, the project is implemented through three operational models: piloting the use of electric vehicles to connect public transport and ride-sharing; express delivery in the inner city; and studying the demand for electric motorbikes. The project aims to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of using electric vehicles, creating a premise for developing and expanding the use of this type of vehicle.

In addition, the results from the study will be included in teaching materials for students of the University of Transport Technology.

Within the framework of cooperation, HVN and the school also jointly established a Scientific Research Fund to provide financial support for research projects focusing on environmental protection topics of lecturers and students.

"The cooperation event actively supports education, part of HVN's comprehensive solution chain towards the goal of working with the Vietnamese government to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050," said a company representative. "Through the project, the company wants to approach and grasp user tastes and needs to create basic data for the development of electric motorbikes in the future."
