HP launches ZBook Ultra laptop with price up to 211 million VND

HP has just introduced a new line of laptops using AMD's Strix Halo APU with many different configurations and starting prices from $4,000.

Unlike gaming laptops that typically come with dedicated GPUs, HP’s latest laptops do not come with RTX 50 series GPUs but instead use iGPUs (integrated GPUs). Although the iGPUs on the Strix Halo are good at performance, the prices of these HP laptops are higher than even high-end gaming laptops that use dedicated RTX 50 series GPUs.

'Shocking' configuration and price of HP ZBook Ultra series

According to HP's official website, the base model of the ZBook Ultra 14 G1a Mobile Workstation PC Wolf Pro Security Edition starts at $4,296. It comes with an AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro 385 processor, Radeon 8050S iGPU, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. The top-of-the-line model with the Ryzen AI Max Pro 395 costs up to $8,250.

The prices of these models vary largely based on memory and storage configurations. For example, a model with an AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro 395 processor, 64GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD costs $5,660, while the same model with 128GB of RAM and a 4TB SSD costs $8,250. The price difference of $2,590 for the additional 64GB of RAM and 3TB SSD is enough to make a powerful gaming laptop.

As for battery life, all models use a 74.5 Wh polymer battery. Displays also vary, from WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200p) displays to 2.8K OLED (2,880 x 1,800p) touchscreens on higher-end models. Detailed specifications can be found on HP's product page, but there aren't huge differences in connectivity, cameras, and other features.

Core configuration is where the biggest difference comes in, with the HP ZBook Ultra 14 starting with the 8-core/16-thread Ryzen AI Max Pro 385 processor up to the 16-core/32-thread Ryzen AI Max Pro 395. With double the cores and threads, the higher-end models will deliver superior performance in heavy-duty processing and graphics thanks to the Radeon 8060S iGPU.

Notably, the B90JPUA model with the same configuration as the high-end model is listed at $4,049, lower than the base model. Currently, HP ZBook Ultra 14 models can be purchased from the official HP store at the above price.
