Huong Tra: Punishing 5 cases of burning straw

On the morning of May 8, Mr. Le Dinh Lanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Chu Ward (Huong Tra Town) informed that the local government has just issued decisions to sanction administrative violations in the field of environmental protection, specifically illegal straw burning against Mr. Mai Xuan Minh, Nguyen Cong Chuy, Doan Van Bich, Ha Phuoc Sam and Doan Van Tien (all residing in Huong Chu Ward) with a fine of 2.5 million VND for each violation.

In addition to handling violations against the above individuals, the People's Committee of Huong Chu Ward also issued an official dispatch criticizing Mr. Phan Van Loc - Head of Phu O 1 residential group for not fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Ward People's Committee in organizing solutions to limit straw burning in the area.

According to Mr. Le Dinh Lanh, the local government will publicize information about the cases that have been punished to the community to propagate not to continue burning straw after harvest, and at the same time strengthen inspection, supervision and detection and handling of violations (if any) in the area.

In 2025, the total winter-spring rice growing area in Huong Tra town is 1,660 hectares, of which the large areas are concentrated in: Huong Toan, Huong Xuan, Huong Van and Huong Chu.

It is now the time for farmers to start harvesting the winter-spring crop, which is expected to end on May 20.
