Towards Cuba

- Responding to the campaign to support the Cuban people, the Provincial Red Cross (RC) has carried out many practical activities, calling for the cooperation of all classes of people and received active support from the people. Thereby, contributing to sharing difficulties, adding motivation for Cuba to overcome challenges, affirming the friendly, loyal and steadfast relationship between the two nations.

Volunteers participated in supporting the Cuban people at the program to review voluntary blood donation work in the first 6 months of the year and summarize the Red Journey volunteer work in 2025.

According to Plan No. 175 dated July 22, 2025 of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society on organizing a program to mobilize support for the Cuban people and Plan No. 192 dated July 30, 2025 of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society on the national launching ceremony, from the beginning of August 2025, the Provincial Red Cross Society has concretized it with activities suitable to the local situation. Notably, the launching ceremony was organized right in the program summarizing the volunteer work of " Lang Son Red Journey 2025". This is considered an important initial step, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and initiative of the organization, at the same time inspiring and spreading the spirit of sharing from the volunteers themselves, the core of the humanitarian movement.

Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Trinh, Vice President in charge of the Provincial Red Cross Association, said: We determined that for the program to be effective, it is necessary to combine many synchronous solutions, so the association integrated the launch into the programs, issued plans to the grassroots, promoted propaganda through many media channels, social networks, etc., thereby spreading widely in the community.

Along with the activities launched among the volunteer force, the association also increased communication through posting news and articles on the official fanpage and encouraged staff and volunteers to actively share on their personal pages, with the motto that each volunteer is an "online propagandist" bringing the message "Together towards Cuba" to the community in a close and convincing way. At the same time, many groups and CTĐ clubs also promoted creative ways of doing things. Mr. Nguyen Khac Xuan, Head of the Light Up Faith Club, said: To respond to the program, we called for the participation of club members and connected with philanthropists to join hands in contributing. What makes me feel warm is that everyone supports very enthusiastically and also mobilizes relatives and friends to join hands. Thanks to that, the club has mobilized nearly 7 million VND, although the amount is not large, it is the sincere sentiment that we send to the Cuban people with the hope of contributing to adding motivation for your country to overcome difficulties.

Not only within the scope of the association, the Provincial Red Cross Association also advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Letter calling for support for the Cuban people on the occasion of the "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year", commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025). On that basis, the provincial launching ceremony was held in mid-August 2025, attracting the participation of many agencies, units, businesses and people, creating a strong spreading effect.

Mr. Phung Quang Hoi, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Secretary of the Dong Kinh Ward Party Committee, said: Immediately after receiving the Appeal Letter, we promptly informed the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, the staff, party members and the blocks through the loudspeaker system, the community Zalo group and the ward's electronic information page... Thanks to that, the program received positive response from a large number of staff, party members and people in the area, with a donation of more than 100 million VND.

What is also valuable is that the spirit of response comes not only from agencies and units but also from the majority of people. Mr. Nguyen Cong Tiem, Thong Nhat village, Thai Binh commune shared: I always appreciate the special bond between Vietnam and Cuba. When I heard about the support campaign, I directly participated in supporting and mobilizing my children and grandchildren to join hands. This is both a responsibility and a way for future generations to better understand the loyal and steadfast friendship between the two peoples, to continue, preserve and promote.

With a systematic approach, creativity in organization and synchronous participation of all levels and sectors, up to now, the Provincial Red Cross Association has received more than 1.3 billion VND with over 1,500 participants supporting the program. That result clearly demonstrates the program's spread and persuasiveness, and at the same time demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and sharing concretized by practical actions.
