According to initial information, at around 12:30 PM on May 31st, residents discovered a forest fire with thick smoke rising from the Dong No mountain area (located in Thuong Phu village, Hong Loc commune) and reported it to the local authorities.
Immediately after receiving the report, the local authorities quickly notified and mobilized approximately 150 people, including commune officials, representatives from various organizations, and residents from the area and surrounding regions, to quickly arrive at the scene and extinguish the fire.
This area consists of acacia and eucalyptus plantations and regenerated forests, spanning the villages of Thuong Phu, Quan Nam, and Truong An, and has been allocated to local people and communities for management.
The leaders of Loc Ha district directly went to the scene to encourage and direct the functional forces to make efforts to extinguish the fire promptly. |
Simultaneously, the authorities, including the Loc Ha District Police, Border Guard, District Military Command, District Forest Management Unit, and other supporting forces, quickly deployed hundreds of people with full equipment and vehicles to the scene to participate in extinguishing the forest fire.
The leaders of Loc Ha district were also present at the scene to encourage and direct the functional forces to deploy efforts to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to a wider area.

The area where the fire occurred was located in a high-altitude, hilly and mountainous region with dense vegetation, combined with strong winds and intense heat, making access and firefighting difficult. However, thanks to the efforts of the local authorities, relevant agencies, and the people, the fire was promptly brought under control and extinguished.
The firefighting operation was carried out synchronously, promptly, effectively, and safely in all aspects. After the fire was extinguished, the local authorities deployed police and militia forces to continue guarding the area to prevent the risk of embers reigniting.

The burned area consisted of acacia and eucalyptus trees that had been regenerating for about 2-3 years and had been assigned to households and the village community for management.
On the morning of June 1st, the District Forest Management Unit will continue to coordinate with the Loc Ha District Police, the commune police, local authorities, and forest owners to conduct an on-site investigation, measure the area, calculate the extent of damage to various types of forests, and determine the cause of the fire.
