DTO - Sectors and levels in Lai Vung district have been focusing on building a sustainable flower and ornamental plant production industry, aiming to become an industry that plays an important role in shifting crop structure, contributing to increasing income for producers and improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
Lai Vung district focuses on developing the ornamental flower industry in a sustainable direction.
According to the People's Committee of Lai Vung district, the goal by 2025 is that the entire district strives to have an ornamental flower growing area of over 1,500 hectares/year, mainly concentrated in the communes of Tan Duong, Hoa Thanh, Phong Hoa, Dinh Hoa, Tan Hoa, Vinh Thoi.
To achieve the set goals, Lai Vung District People's Committee has developed a specific plan for production organization. In particular, investing, upgrading and expanding infrastructure to serve the development of ornamental flowers in terms of area and conditions for cultivation, transportation, system of wharfs for gathering, preliminary processing, packaging and product trade. Regarding varieties, developing existing local seed sources; receiving and transferring new varieties of flowers and ornamental plants with high economic value suitable for production conditions and consumption markets; coordinating training on advanced flower and ornamental plant production technology transfer models in the direction of good agricultural practices (GAP), organic production linked with product consumption; implementing production and consumption linkage models, encouraging and creating favorable conditions for organizations and enterprises to participate in linking production - consumption of flowers and ornamental plants in a closed chain from production to preliminary processing, preservation and consumption of products in order to stabilize output, increase production value and efficiency; Develop diverse and suitable forms of cooperation and association, forming a value chain from production to consumption of quality-assured products; strengthen the connection and development of ornamental flower villages with tourism activities (picnics, ecology, experiences...) with flower farmers.
The district focuses on consolidating and developing the collective economic model in the flower and ornamental industry; establishing a new cooperative in the lily industry to mobilize households growing bougainvillea and lilies to participate; mobilizing the development and registration of 1-2 OCOP flower and ornamental products of 3 stars or higher; developing 1 community tourism spot. At the same time, applying science , technology, digital transformation; promoting the application of technology in net houses, membrane houses, greenhouses, smart irrigation, information technology, automation technology, sensor systems to adjust light, humidity, temperature, sprinkler irrigation technology... combined with automatic fertilization according to the nutritional needs of plants.
In addition, the district also focuses on introducing organizations, individuals, and cooperatives to participate in fairs, festivals, and festivals to promote ornamental flower trade at home and abroad...
