According to plan, the new Tucson will be launched in the third quarter of 2026, at the same time as the new generation Elantra. The biggest highlight is the appearance of the advanced Pleos OS operating system, combined with the orientation to focus on hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, completely replacing diesel engines to catch up with the global electrification trend. The exterior of the latest generation Hyundai Tucson 2026 SUV is defined by sharp lines and a multi-dimensional design, inspired by the Nexo hydrogen vehicle and the N Vision 74 concept.
Split headlamps, vertical daytime running lights and super-slim H-shaped LED daytime running lights create a futuristic look, while also reminiscent of the latest Nexo. The latest leaked images show that the overall design of the 2026 Tucson has a tendency to transform from an urban SUV to an adventure-oriented vehicle, targeting customers who are passionate about outdoor activities. Inside, the cockpit has been completely redesigned with a 16:9 screen inspired by smartphone interfaces, allowing access to many applications through the Pleos Playground Store.
The traditional instrument cluster gives way to a minimalist layout, focusing on digital displays. Level 2.5 semi-autonomous driving and the voice-controlled Gleo AI entertainment platform promise to enhance the user experience. The 2026 Tucson is also equipped with the Gleo virtual assistant, which acts as an integrated version of ChatGPT, helping with voice control, navigation, entertainment or vehicle settings through natural interaction. In addition, the level 2.5 self-driving system on the 2026 Hyundai Tucson will be standard equipment, providing a smarter and safer driving experience.
In terms of operation, the new Tucson will launch hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, of which the PHEV variant is capable of traveling more than 100 km purely on electricity, meeting the needs of urban travel well. The starting price is expected to be around 24,500 USD, slightly higher than the current generation. With a concept-inspired design, modern interior and electrification technology, the 2026 Hyundai Tucson is expected to continue to strengthen its position in the small SUV segment in the global market.
