What upgrades will the Isuzu mu-X 2025 bring to Vietnam that will increase the selling price?

Isuzu mu-X 2025 was brought to Vietnam with the expectation of increasing sales. However, with only slight upgrades and increased prices, this model is expected to continue to be sluggish.

In March 2025, a batch of upgraded Isuzu mu-X cars was spotted in Vietnam. Up to now, sales consultants at the dealership said that this mid-size SUV will officially launch in Vietnam next June.

Through the photos of the first batch of cars, it can be seen that the Isuzu mu-X 2025 in Vietnam has a new design similar to the car launched in Thailand since June 2024. It seems that the car for Vietnam will not have a sporty RS version like in the Thai market.

In the upgraded version, the Isuzu mu-X has been improved in the exterior area. This can be clearly seen through the new LED headlights and taillights with Dynamic Blade design. In particular, the headlights integrate LED daytime running lights with a sharper design than before. In addition, this D-class SUV also uses new types of rims with designs that vary by version.

Currently, the equipment of the Isuzu mu-X 2025 in Vietnam is still unknown. Meanwhile, in the Thai market, the car has standard equipment such as a dark gray painted grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, an 8-inch central touch screen and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.

In the high-end version, the car is equipped with an electric trunk door with a kick sensor, seats covered with Cool Max material, a 9-inch central touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, an 8-way electric driver's seat, 2 rows of reclining/flat folding rear seats and the last row of 1-touch folding seats.

Five new ADAS active safety features, including lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist, emergency lane keeping assist, lane departure warning and avoidance assist, and rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, are also exclusive to the premium version. The RS version adds a 360-degree camera, including underbody monitoring, and power front seats.

It would not be surprising if the 2025 Isuzu mu-X in Vietnam continues to use the old 1.9L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. This engine produces a maximum capacity of 148 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. In the Thai market, the old 1.9L diesel engine has been removed, replaced by the new 2.2L Ddi MaxForce RZ4F-TC diesel engine.

This engine produces a maximum capacity of 163 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,600 - 2,400 rpm. Compared to the old 1.9L engine, the new diesel engine is 13 horsepower and 50 Nm more powerful. The engine comes with a new 8-speed Rev Tronic automatic transmission to optimize the rpm range or a 6-speed manual transmission, depending on the version.

The selling price of the Isuzu mu-X 2025 in Vietnam has not been announced yet. Meanwhile, the current version is being sold in Vietnam for between 911 million and 1.25 billion VND, quite attractive in the segment. However, this model is not popular in Vietnam with cumulative sales in the first 4 months of 2025 reaching only 76 units.
