At least five people have been killed in a shooting in and around a migrant camp near the northern French city of Dunkirk.
A 22-year-old man who identified himself as the gunman arrived at the nearby Ghyvelde police station at 5pm local time on December 14.
The killer told police he killed one man, believed to be 29, in the French town of Wormhout and then took the lives of four others at the Loon-Plage refugee camp.
Reuters reported that the four victims at the camp included two security guards and two residents.
Authorities found three more weapons in the suspect's car, according to French media.
The motive for the shootings at Wormhout and Loon-Plage, about six miles from the English Channel, is still unknown.
According to the charity Care4Calais, the refugees have been camped in the area for years, mainly "Kurdish or Afghan and include many families with young children".
Currently, both the French Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice have not commented on the above incident.
