Connecting businesses in supporting industries

Supporting industrial products of enterprises belonging to Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association.

Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh are key localities in industrial production in the South as well as the whole country. Regional linkage, from which industry linkage and enterprise linkage to exploit the potential and advantages of supporting industry is very important.

Open opportunities

Dr. Huynh Thanh Dien, lecturer at Nguyen Tat Thanh University (Ho Chi Minh City), commented: Vietnam is strongly developing manufacturing industries, attracting more and more foreign investors. This creates opportunities for domestic supporting industry enterprises to develop. In fact, Vietnam's export value depends largely on FDI enterprises. When they come here to produce, they have to import components and raw materials from outside. If domestic enterprises can produce, it will be very good and the opportunity to cooperate with them will be more open, from which Vietnamese products and goods can enter the global supply chain.

Similarly, Mr. Phan Hong Viet, Head of the Industrial Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, said: Currently, along with the merger of administrative boundaries, it also creates a larger space for enterprises, including the supporting industry, to develop. Ho Chi Minh City plays a leading role with Dong Nai and Tay Ninh to form a strong growth pole, leading the supporting industry of the whole country to seize opportunities and anticipate global trends. According to Mr. Phan Hong Viet, this is the right time to form highly competitive supply chains, meeting the needs of key industries, while improving the ability to integrate and expand export markets.

On the enterprise side, Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Director of Cat Thai Production and Trading Company Limited (Ho Chi Minh City), shared: The company has received many orders from large FDI partners manufacturing in Vietnam. The company's main product lines focus on high-tech plastic parts, plastic pallets, recycled plastic granules; rubber parts; plastic injection molds, stamping molds; metal parts, metal stamping, mechanical processing... Not only supplying simple, detailed products, the company also supplies multi-component assemblies with high added value.

Currently, many foreign enterprises are shifting production or expanding factories in Vietnam, leading to a great demand for finding domestic suppliers. This is the time for Vietnamese enterprises to prove their capacity and seize the opportunity to become a sustainable link in the international supply chain.

Link to exploit potential and advantages

Dong Nai is an industrial production “stronghold”, so the demand for supporting industrial products is large, creating conditions for local enterprises to provide their services. Nhat Tin An Packaging Company Limited (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park) is supplying types and designs of carton packaging to industrial production enterprises in and outside the province. In particular, most of the company’s products are supplied to enterprises in the wood industry.

Ms. Nguyen Huyen Trang, Director of Nhat Tin An Packaging Company Limited, shared: The company is in the process of expanding and doubling its production capacity, so it hopes to receive connections and cooperation with the local wood industry to supply supporting products for the industry. Cooperating with many wood industry partners in the province and neighboring areas to diversify products and expand the consumption market is also a solution to enhance brand recognition for the company.

Tuong Lai Company Limited (Long Thanh Commune, Dong Nai Province) is a trusted address for many domestic and foreign partners. This is also one of the few typical enterprises of Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association that welcomes many business delegations to exchange, learn and share production experiences. The company specializes in supplying technical rubber products for motorbike, automobile and electronics manufacturing enterprises. In recent years, the company has invested hundreds of billions of VND to upgrade equipment and machinery with the aim of improving product quality.

Mr. Truong Quoc Cuong, Director of Tuong Lai Company Limited, said: In order to connect and supply products to large corporations and partners, enterprises must boldly innovate. When many large corporations and enterprises come to Vietnam to produce, the demand for products and components increases and that is an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to boldly invest, improve capacity and exploit the market.

Meanwhile, in terms of Southeast regional connectivity, Dr. Huynh Thanh Dien suggested: The central area of Ho Chi Minh City needs to be positioned as high-tech and research; Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and the industrial centers of Binh Duong (old)... develop the manufacturing sector, creating an ecosystem from research, manufacturing to export. The distribution of industries must be recalculated to have reasonable solutions based on the strengths of each region in the overall common connectivity.

Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Supporting Industries (HASI) and the Dong Nai Business Federation, Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association are promoting connection and cooperation programs between units. Mr. Vo Son Dien, Chairman of HASI, said: Deeper cooperation, overcoming the fragmentation and dependence on imported components will gradually form a complete supporting industry ecosystem.
