Domestic gasoline prices increased simultaneously from this afternoon (August 28), of which diesel increased the most, by more than 400 VND/liter.
According to the document of the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil on the management of domestic gasoline and oil retail prices, from 3:00 p.m., the ceiling price of E5RON92 gasoline is 19,771 VND/liter, an increase of 307 VND/liter compared to the current price; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 20,363 VND/liter, an increase of 271 VND/liter compared to the current price.
Along with that, diesel increased by 452 VND, to 18,357 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 411 VND, the new price is 18,225 VND/liter and mazut increased by 144 VND, to 15,260 VND/kg.
Regarding the price stabilization fund, since the beginning of the year, the fund has remained unchanged with no deductions and no spending for petroleum products. A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was VND3,084 billion, unchanged from the most recent announcement.
In the most recent adjustment (August 21), E5RON92 gasoline increased by 110 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 208 VND/liter. In contrast, diesel oil decreased by 172 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 206 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 152 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday.
In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the preceding Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.
