On July 31, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Pham Hung Tam received Mr. Kim Sampson, President of the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association at the Vietnamese Embassy in Canberra.
According to the VNA correspondent in Australia, at the reception, Mr. Kim Sampson expressed his wish to coordinate with the Embassy to promote cooperation and connection activities between the two sides as well as between the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association and Vietnamese associations in Australia.
Mr. Kim Sampson said he is cooperating well with the Vietnam Business Association in Australia and is interested in other Vietnamese associations to expand the network, contributing to improving understanding and exchange between Australia and Vietnam.
On this occasion, Mr. Kim Sampson also shared his intention to promote the family doctor exchange program between Vietnam and Australia to increase connections and exchange professional experiences in the field of primary health care in local and rural medical facilities.
In October, the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association is expected to welcome two Vietnamese doctors to Adelaide as part of a doctor exchange program between the two sides.
For his part, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam highly appreciated the connecting activities of the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the positive contributions of Mr. Kim Sampson as its president over the past 10 years, and believed that the association would have more positive initiatives, contributing to improving understanding between the two countries.
The Ambassador also emphasized that on the basis of good cooperation and trust between the two countries, he suggested that the association actively implement the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association, expand the network of members supporting the Vietnam-Australia relationship, and enhance understanding, exchange and experience sharing between the two sides.
On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam and Mr. Kim Sampson also discussed the activities of the Vietnamese community in Australia, especially in Victoria state./.
