South Korean National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik has announced the end of the vote on the impeachment bill against President Yoon Suk Yeol over the imposition of martial law.
According to the vote count, the bill to impeach South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was not passed by the National Assembly, according to Bloomberg.
The South Korean National Assembly met on December 7 to begin the impeachment process of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

At the time the vote began, the number of lawmakers present was not enough to pass the impeachment motion. At least 200 votes are needed to pass the impeachment of Mr. Yoon. Lawmakers chanted the names of PPP members who left the chamber during the impeachment vote of Mr. Yoon, calling for the PPP lawmakers to return.
National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik delayed the vote count to wait for PPP lawmakers to return, but by the 9:20 p.m. deadline, only three had returned, with at least one voting against.
The opposition has said it will propose a new impeachment vote next week, as early as December 11.
On the morning of December 7, Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol made a public speech, publicly apologizing to the people for declaring martial law and saying that he would let the ruling party decide his term. The opposition Democratic Party (DP) expressed disappointment at Mr. Yoon's announcement and stressed that there was no other choice but to impeach or force Mr. Yoon to resign. DP leader Lee Jae-myung said that Mr. Yoon's apology "completely did not match the people's expectations" and that it "increased the public's sense of betrayal and anger."
