End of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year

On the morning of June 3, candidates who registered for admission to grade 10 at Ha Long High School for the Gifted continued to take one of the remaining specialized subjects corresponding to the specialized class they registered for admission: Math, Chemistry, Literature, English; the test time is 150 minutes, starting at 7:30 a.m. This is also the last exam session, concluding the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

According to statistics, Ha Long High School for the Gifted has 1,010 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam. The school enrolls 12 specialized classes, including 2 English specialized classes; each class has no more than 35 students.

After 150 minutes of concentration and serious work, the candidates taking the specialized subjects: Math, Chemistry, Literature, and English completed the exam.

According to statistics, the first choice to register for the English major has the highest number of candidates, with 231 candidates. The other specialized classes all have a much higher number of candidates registering than the enrollment quota.

Each specialized subject has its own exam according to the secondary school curriculum; the exam questions for specialized subjects ensure the levels of understanding, application and high application.

Foreign language subjects apply a combination of essay and objective multiple choice tests to assess listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. In particular, the Computer Science subject tests computer programming. The remaining subjects apply essay format.

At the end of the exam, most candidates commented that this year's specialized subject exam was still similar to previous years' exam structure, with application and high-level application questions accounting for the majority to truly assess students' learning ability and select students with good knowledge and thinking ability for specialized classes.

According to a quick report from the provincial Department of Education and Training, during the exams of specialized subjects, security and safety for the exams continued to be strictly implemented, with no unusual incidents occurring.

The specialized subjects tested on the morning of June 3rd had 631 candidates participating in the exam out of a total of 636 candidates registered to take the exam; 5 candidates were absent and did not participate in the exam (1 candidate in Literature and 4 candidates in English). There were no invigilators and candidates violated the exam regulations.

After 2.5 days of intense exams, all candidates of Quang Ninh province completed the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Thus, after 3 days with 5 exam sessions, the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year has successfully ended. According to the plan, the exam marking and grading will take place from June 4 to 14; the exam scores and expected benchmark scores for public schools will be announced on June 15. From June 17 to 22, applications will be received and reviewed; the benchmark scores and benchmark scores for public schools will be announced on June 22.
