Previously, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and localities to focus on resolving local traffic congestion points before the Lunar New Year, ensuring the principle of "5 clear" including: Clear unit/individual in charge, clear assigned responsibilities, clear implementation results, clear completion time and clear coordination responsibilities.
Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City Police are assigned to resolutely handle behaviors that easily cause traffic congestion such as: Driving on prohibited roads, during prohibited hours; driving in the wrong section or lane; not obeying traffic lights... Strengthen the work of handling through images, including from violation data sources provided by organizations and individuals outside the industry.

The Department of Construction was assigned to establish working groups to coordinate in handling traffic congestion in a number of key routes and areas: Hanoi Highway - Mai Chi Tho - An Phu intersection - Cat Lai port; National Highway 13 - Binh Trieu bridge; National Highway 22; National Highway 51; My Phuoc - Tan Van road; Cong Hoa road...
Organize review and research to expand the public passenger transport network, connect multi-modal connections to serve the travel needs of people in newly merged areas, especially students. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 336 points at risk of traffic congestion, of which 186 are at high risk, concentrated in the central area and gateway routes into the city: National Highway 13, Binh Trieu Bridge, Phu Cuong Bridge, National Highway 1, National Highway 51, National Highway 22, An Phu intersection...
