"For those looking for a new resort destination in Southeast Asia, Vietnam tourism can be an alternative to the already popular Thailand."
Author Molly Toolan emphasized this in the British newspaper Express.uk and continued to share why Vietnam tourism is more attractive than Thailand after a trip to the two countries: Vietnam is a country with many things to explore and in my opinion is better than Thailand for many reasons. This country has many "hidden gems", a rich history and diverse culture.
One thing that Thailand tourism is known for and that many people may not know is that Vietnam also has many beautiful beaches. Phu Quoc and Mui Ne are two particularly beautiful beaches and Hoi An also has a number of beaches to choose from.

Vietnam is home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Hoi An, a remarkably well-preserved example of a major trading port that operated from the 15th to 19th centuries, and Ha Long Bay, famous for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands covered in tropical rainforest.
You can take a boat tour or kayak in the bay and it is one of the most peaceful places I have ever visited.
Sa Pa is also a place you should visit if you want to explore the rice fields and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Of course, Vietnam has a rich history with periods of Chinese influence, French colonialism and the American War being some of the most prominent. There is much to learn and explore about all of these periods.
Although tourism is booming in Vietnam, the number of visitors is significantly lower than in Thailand, which last year saw double the number of tourists visiting Vietnam. However, the number of international visitors to Vietnam has continued to grow strongly since the pandemic, making it a formidable rival to Thailand.
A popular tourist route, one that is rare in the world, is the Ha Giang loop, famous for its spectacular scenery, including waterfalls, rice terraces and villages. This loop usually starts and ends in Ha Giang city, and most people travel there from the capital Hanoi by night bus.

Food and accommodation in Vietnam are also generally more affordable than in Thailand.
Vietnamese food is fresh, healthy and full of flavour, you can try some of the signature dishes including pho, banh mi and spring rolls.
You can take cooking classes all over the country and will probably meet the friendliest locals you've ever met.
Coffee is one of my favorite things about this country and it is arguably the best coffee in the world. Famous for egg coffee, coconut coffee and salt coffee, there are many varieties to try and they are rich and intense in flavour, helping you get through your busy travel days.
So if you are looking for an alternative to Thailand, Vietnam is definitely worth considering.
