(Dan Tri) - Wearing traditional Vietnamese traditional clothes, the group of foreign tourists were covered in mud from head to toe and screamed out loud when they caught fish in a ditch for the first time in Vietnam.
Experiencing local culture is one of the interesting things that attracts foreign tourists when coming to Vietnam. In fact, the more unique the culture, the more attractive it is. Therefore, foreign tourists learning how to plant rice, plow buffaloes or catch fish in ponds and ditches are becoming popular services. Recently, during a trip to Vietnam, an American tourist named Hannah Moore shared her unforgettable memories when she and her group of friends went fishing for the first time. In the video, the group of foreign tourists wore traditional Vietnamese clothes, covered in mud from head to toe, but were still excited when groping for fish in the ditch. "This is the most fun and chaotic time," Hannah happily shared. Equipped with a fishing net, the group of tourists were initially confused and did not know how to handle it. They were supported and guided by the game master, so they were very excited. Their shouts almost lost their voices, making many people laugh. In addition to admiring the beautiful scenery and enjoying local cuisine, these types of experiential activities are becoming a unique feature of Vietnamese tourism that foreign tourists enjoy. According to research, the place where the group of tourists went to have fun was an eco-tourism area located in My Khanh commune, Phong Dien district, Can Tho city. This area is about 10km from the city center, right on the extended Nguyen Van Cu route. Catching fish by bailing out ditches is a popular game among visitors at eco-tourism sites in the West (Photo: Provided by the character). With a total area of about 3 hectares, the eco-tourism area is designed as a comprehensive tourism model with many service experiences from entertainment to country cuisine . This is also a place where visitors can return to their childhood to experience the games of the people of the Mekong Delta. Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Pham Minh Sang, representative of the tourist area, said that on weekends, this place welcomes 500 guests. During peak periods, it can welcome more than 1,000 guests/day. Most of the visitors here are local people and neighboring visitors, while foreign visitors only account for a small portion. Catching fish, catching ducks, and swinging across ditches are the most attractive folk games. When coming here, visitors will be given traditional Vietnamese traditional clothes to immerse themselves in the space of the river area. For groups of 20 or more, the ticket price is 230,000 VND/person (not including meals) and 400,000 VND/person (including lunch). If you are traveling in groups of 2 or more, you will buy an entrance ticket of 100,000 VND/person and buy tickets in the game areas. This is an opportunity for many people to return to their childhood memories (Photo: Character provided). The area for catching fish in the ditch is about 40 square meters wide, designed like a pond (pond, ditch), which is a typical cultural feature of the Southwest region. After that, snakehead fish are released into the pond for the group of guests to experience fishing. "From the childhood game of catching fish in the pond and then grilling them with straw, in the 2000s I cherished this folk game. After that, I developed this idea into ecological areas so that visitors can experience returning to their childhood. Currently, most tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta have developed this game and received a positive response from visitors," said Mr. Sang. Immersing yourself in the mud to catch fish, the excited shouts of visitors every time they catch a fish make many people temporarily forget their worries. Mr. Sang said that this is also the most popular game in the tourist area. After the fishing session, guests will bring the snakehead fish to the chef to be processed into dishes such as grilled, fried or roasted...
