Karolina and Jayesh traveled to Vietnam a few months ago. The couple's trip lasted about 4 weeks, passing through many provinces and cities.

During their recent trip to Vietnam, Jayesh and Karolina spent time exploring some attractive destinations for foreign tourists such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Giang, Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Ninh Binh, Hoi An (Quang Nam)...

The couple commented that Vietnam not only has beautiful scenery and many unique experiences, but also attracts tourists with countless delicious dishes. Among them, they were most impressed with the square-shaped bun cha quat dish in Ninh Binh.

The place where Jayesh and Karolina enjoyed this square vermicelli dish was a local restaurant located on Tay Thanh Street, Tan Thanh Ward, Ninh Binh City.

Jayesh believes that this is a delicious restaurant, popular with locals because he saw the chef busy grilling large quantities of patties, with many customers lining up around waiting to buy.

“This dish is definitely delicious, as you can see the chef grilling a lot of patties that are already arranged on the grill,” Jayesh said while filming the video.

In Ninh Binh, Bun Cha Quat is one of the famous dishes, attracting both locals and tourists from all over.

According to the local people's way of making it, the sausage is made from ground pork, mixed in the right ratio of lean meat and fat, so it has a characteristic softness and elasticity. The sausage is made into small round shapes, then stacked together into large square pieces.

When customers arrive, the owner takes the patties out to grill on a charcoal stove, fanning and turning them over. When cooked, the patties have slightly charred edges and a cockroach-wing color, ensuring sweetness, not dryness, and a fragrant aroma.

At the restaurant, Jayesh and Karolina ordered two servings of Bun Cha Quat. They were both quite surprised by the large, square-shaped pieces of cha. Jay commented that Ninh Binh Bun Cha Quat had many differences compared to the Bun Cha they had enjoyed in Hanoi.

According to the British YouTuber, the pork patties in Hanoi are cut into small pieces while the pork patties in Ninh Binh are made into large, square pieces. In addition, Hanoi's vermicelli noodles are made with small, tangled noodles, while Ninh Binh's vermicelli noodles are eaten with rice noodles, cut into bite-sized pieces.

When eating, Jayesh showed the sophistication of a local. He seasoned the fish sauce with a little garlic vinegar and fresh chili. Then, he picked up a piece of vermicelli, dipped it in the fish sauce and enjoyed it.

The British guy likes to dip the meatloaf into the fish sauce to feel the sweet, sour, and rich taste of the dish.

The Western guest commented that the fish sauce had a harmonious sweet and sour taste, with thinly sliced crispy papaya inside. The grilled meatloaf was juicy, soft, not too dry and fragrant.

“The taste is great. The meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth. Maybe it’s because the owner marinated the meat so well that the patties are so fragrant and delicious,” said Jayesh.

As for Karolina, she was also impressed with the way of enjoying Bun Cha Quat with the accompanying herbs, which helps to increase the freshness of the dish.

“The herbs and dipping sauce are also a bit different from the bun cha I had in Hanoi. However, I find the bun cha quat here very delicious,” Karolina shared.

Two Western guests commented that this was the best bun cha they had ever tasted. After finishing two full servings of bun cha, they even ordered a square portion of cha cuon because they really liked the taste of cha quat here.

At the end of the meal, the couple paid 85,000 VND, including two servings of Bun Cha Quat and an extra portion of Cha Cha. They commented that the price was reasonable, commensurate with the quality of the food.

It is known that during their time exploring Ninh Binh, Jayesh and Karolina also visited some interesting tourist attractions such as Mua Cave, Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Hoa Lu ancient town... and experienced cycling and boating on Ky Lan Lake... The couple also enjoyed eating pho, drinking coffee and coconut water in this land.
