According to information from the Ninh Binh Statistics Office, in October 2024, the number of tourists is estimated to continue to increase compared to the same period last year, reaching an estimated 7,680 thousand visitors, an increase of 30.86% over the same period last year, and activities are bustling. Notably, many international tourists have come to Ninh Binh to participate in rural activities with local people. Most tourists are excited about work such as: planting rice, draining ponds to catch fish, catching crabs, etc., creating very interesting moments.

The first time he set foot in the S-shaped land, Flo - a young man from Germany was invited by his Vietnamese companion to register for a cooking tour in the Buffalo Cave area (in Dam Khe, Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province).

This destination is located in the Tam Coc - Bich Dong complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage, about 100km from Hanoi. This place attracts many foreign tourists to experience activities related to agricultural culture and local people's lives.

During the 2-hour class, the German boy listened attentively to the chef introduce the ingredients for making Northern-style spring rolls as well as carefully observed the process of making this dish. Although it was his first time wrapping spring rolls, the Western guest practiced quite skillfully. In no time, he finished the small, pretty spring rolls, rolled evenly. After that, he was instructed on how to fry the spring rolls so that the skin was crispy and had an attractive golden color.

Not only Flo, but also some other foreign tourists attending the class were excited and interested in the experience of wrapping spring rolls. “I like Vietnamese food so I signed up for this class to better understand the local culinary culture, as well as learn how to prepare delicious dishes,” said Cantero Jim (a Spanish tourist).

It is known that the cost of participating in the Vietnamese cooking tour here is from 20 USD/person (more than 500,000 VND). Recently, a group of 17 American female tourists had an exciting experience in the fields of Son Ha commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh. Although it was their first time participating in farming work, they were very happy to "transform" into real village girls to plant rice, bail water or catch fish with baskets - muddy jobs that surprised the whole village.

Before starting, the girls were instructed to put on boots, wear conical hats and wade into the fields, immersing themselves in traditional agricultural work. This was a special experience, helping them understand more about the life, customs and long-standing rice culture of the Vietnamese people.

Maya, an American tourist, shared: “This is my first time coming to Vietnam and I feel that this place is wonderful. Today, participating in farming work in Ninh Binh is really interesting. I will tell my friends about this trip when I return to the US.”

In addition to the farming experiences, international visitors also learned about the traditional primitive fishing tools of the Vietnamese people. Although the American girls were covered in mud, they were all very happy and excited about this experience.

International tourists to Ninh Binh increased dramatically in October 2024.

With the strong development of the tourism industry, Ninh Binh is increasingly attracting many international tourists to explore, not only the scenic spots such as Trang An, Tam Coc but also the rural activities imbued with identity. In October 2024, Ninh Binh province focused on organizing many major events to attract a large number of people and domestic and foreign tourists such as: "The Music of ABBA" program is a tour of the Swedish band ARRIAL within the framework of marking the 55th anniversary of Vietnam - Sweden diplomatic relations; Ninh Binh culinary and tourism festival; Trang An - Cuc Phuong hot air balloon festival. The festivals are organized as attractive activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage (2014 - 2024).
