On the evening of June 21, more than 10,000 spectators at the stands of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2025 and hundreds of thousands of locals and tourists turned their eyes to the Han River sky to admire the competition night with the largest number of fireworks in the qualifying round.

Two teams from Portugal and the UK brought eye-catching, artistic performances that contained profound messages about sustainable development - the theme throughout this year's festival season.

Organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City andSun Group Corporation, the fourth night of DIFF 2025 not only lit up the city's sky, but also stirred up every emotion of the audience with two performances that were completely different in style, but met in common: creativity, class and inspiration.

Portugal "lights up" the Han River stage with a brilliant firework rock performance

With nearly a century of experience and a brilliant mark in Europe, the Macedos Pirotecnia team (Portugal) entered the competition night as a true “rock band”. With the theme “Light Concert for a Green Future”, the performance opened with the song “Rock You Like A Hurricane” which ignited the atmosphere in the stands. Each burst of fireworks, combined rhythmically with passionate music, made the audience feel like they were lost in a lively and modern light party.

The highlight is the unexpected emotional change of tone with the melody “Love Vietnam”, when the fireworks simulate the image of flying birds and the brilliant sunlight in the sky of Da Nang. The message about the environment, love for nature and harmony between humans and the green planet is told through the delicate language of light.

The second half of the performance continued to captivate the audience with multi-colored symphonies: from traditional Portuguese songs to excerpts from Mozart’s “Lacrimosa”. High-end fireworks effects such as light waterfalls, volcanoes, and shooting stars were used skillfully, demonstrating high technical level and the ability to combine sound and light precisely to each musical note.

UK 'evokes emotional waves' with vibrant cinematic symphony

Returning to the DIFF stage with high expectations, the Pyrotex Fireworx team (UK) did not disappoint fans. With the theme “Emotional Waves”, the performance was designed like a movie soundtrack told through fireworks, taking the audience through many emotional levels.

The opening is a quiet space like the ocean floor, then quickly changes with a series of background music from the 007 - James Bond series, bringing a feeling of suspense and excitement.

Notably, the fireworks team from England also surprised and excited the Vietnamese audience when they performed Vietnamese songs such as “Nguoi Hay Thon Em Di” (My Tam) and “Noi Nay Co Anh” (Son Tung M-TP). The entire audience was filled with singing along, applause and laughter echoing along the Han River.

The finale is a mesmerizing symphony, bringing together masterpieces such as “Canto Della Terra”, “Dancing Queen” or “Live and Let Die”, combined with dense, multi-layered and constantly changing fireworks effects.

That is the moment when emotions are sublimated, both gently calm and intensely surging, making the audience feel like they are attending a fireworks opera under the night sky of Da Nang.

The 5th competition night (June 28) between Korea and Italy will be broadcast live on Da Nang Radio and Television Station - DRT from 8:10 p.m. The final night (July 12) will be broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television.
