According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of his official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on October 30, in London, General Secretary To Lam had a meeting with Chairman of the British Conservative Party Kemi Badenoch.
At the meeting, Conservative Party Chairman Kemi Badenoch welcomed and expressed his honor to meet General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, affirming that this is an important milestone in strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Congratulating Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements in recent years under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and General Secretary To Lam, Ms. Badenoch welcomed the two countries' adoption of the Joint Statement on upgrading the Vietnam-UK relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Ms. Kemi Badenoch emphasized that the British Conservative Party attaches importance to and supports promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries as well as the relationship between the two peoples; affirmed that the British Conservative Party will continue to promote and strengthen relations with Vietnam in the Parliament, encourage the British Government to maintain a policy of active cooperation with Vietnam, support Vietnam in improving its economic governance capacity, digital transformation, and training high-quality human resources. On this occasion, Ms. Badenoch sent her warm regards to the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam thanked the Conservative Party Chairwoman Kemi Badenoch and the British Conservative Party leadership for their solidarity and friendship; and highly appreciated Ms. Kemi Badenoch, in her position as Secretary of State for Business and Trade, for playing an important role in promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, especially the UK's official accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Informing about the situation in Vietnam in recent times, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches importance to friendly relations and cooperation with political parties around the world, including the British Conservative Party, in order to enhance understanding and consolidate the political foundation to enhance cooperation in all fields.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the Conservative Party continue to support the activities of the British Parliament and Government to promote and facilitate bilateral cooperation, including expanding connections between businesses of the two countries, boosting investment cooperation in the fields of finance and banking, green transformation, clean energy, innovation and education and training; promoting the role of each Party in exchanging information, organizing cultural and people-to-people exchanges to further enhance solidarity and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries; supporting the Vietnamese community in the UK and British people in Vietnam to live, study and work in the host country.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam invited Ms. Badenoch and the British Conservative Party delegation to pay an official visit to Vietnam as soon as possible.
Appreciating the important achievements of the bilateral relationship in recent times, the leaders of the two Parties were pleased to see that Vietnam and the UK have many things in common on international and regional issues of mutual concern, regularly coordinating closely and supporting each other at international and regional forums.
The two leaders agreed to promote and strengthen cooperation between the two Parties through increased contacts and exchanges of policy experiences, contributing to the development of the traditional friendship and the Vietnam-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, for the long-term interests of the two peoples, for peace, security and sustainable development in the region and the world; support the stance and principles on maintaining peace and stability in the region, and peacefully resolving disputes in the Asia-Pacific region, including the East Sea, in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)./.
