Attending the event were First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union of China A Dong; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Bui Quang Huy; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students' Association Nguyen Minh Triet.

Also attending were officials from the two countries' Youth Unions; Vietnamese provincial Youth Unions bordering China; and Vietnamese and Chinese youth delegates.

Before the opening of the program, youth delegations from the two countries respectfully offered flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument.

In his opening speech, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Bui Quang Huy said that over the years, the Youth Unions of the two countries have promoted the strong development of Vietnam-China youth cooperation and achieved many results. Training programs, youth exchanges, and youth cooperation forums have created opportunities for thousands of young people from both countries to better understand each other's culture, traditions, and customs.

Cooperation between the two countries' youth also helps raise awareness and capacity to solve global issues, such as climate change, environmental protection and promoting peace and stability in the region.

The youth of the two countries, with their dynamism, creativity and enthusiasm, are playing a good role as "young cultural ambassadors", connecting the friendship between the two countries, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the region and the world.

This year's Youth Friendship Meeting is of great significance in concretizing the results and the High-level Joint Statement, contributing to promoting to the young generations of the two countries about new developments in Vietnam-China relations. More specifically, the 24th Vietnam-China Youth Friendship Meeting in 2025 is held on the occasion of the State visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam.

This is a historic opportunity for young people from both countries to meet, discuss the situation of the young generation, and share experiences in Youth Union work and youth and children's movements.

“We hope that through this meeting, Chinese youth will have the opportunity to better understand the country, people and culture of Vietnam - a peace-loving nation, always accompanying the Chinese people in the cause of building socialism for both countries and two peoples,” Comrade Bui Quang Huy emphasized.

Speaking at the program, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China A Dong shared that when he came to Hanoi and witnessed the image of the two countries' national flags fluttering, he clearly felt the vibrant development of Vietnam's economy and the warm feelings of the two peoples.

Comrade A Dong hopes that the youth of the two countries will strive to become the next generation to inherit and promote the China-Vietnam friendship. At the same time, he hopes that the Youth Unions of the two countries will uphold their original wishes, inherit the traditional friendship; remember the common mission; actively carry out the study and research of political theory, and practical exchanges to deepen the friendship between the people of the two countries.

“In the context of technology, artificial intelligence, and green development exploding, it is urgent to unleash the creative potential of young people to promote modernization through productive forces… I hope that young people will take advantage of the opportunity to connect and learn about the neighborly relations between the two countries, actively participate in cooperation on digital economy, cross-border tourism, and contribute their youth to the construction of the two countries. When the young generation has ideals and responsibilities, development, progress, and human peace will have a strong driving force…”, comrade A Dong shared.

At the program, a Youth Forum of the two countries took place with the theme "Vietnamese - Chinese Youth: Firmly upholding ideals".

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Communist Youth Union of China exchanged and shared experiences on key issues in propaganda and education for the youth of the two countries; the role and responsibility of Vietnamese and Chinese youth in firmly and creatively applying the path of national independence associated with socialism in the current context; solutions to innovate content and methods, improve the effectiveness of political and ideological education for union members and youth; study and follow the ideology of the leaders of the two Parties.

The forum also listened to opinions from experts and many insightful discussions from youth delegates from the two countries.

The presentations focused on analyzing, clarifying and sharing experiences on many important issues, demonstrating the awareness of the importance, creativity and enthusiasm of the youth of the two countries in fostering revolutionary ideals and improving theoretical capacity for young people in the new period...
