Opening of the National Lion Dance Club Championship

On the evening of August 25, at the Dak Lak Provincial Sports Gymnasium, the Department of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Vietnam Lion and Dragon Dance Federation in coordination with the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening ceremony of the National Lion and Dragon Dance Club Championship 2025.

The tournament has the participation of 13 Lion Dance Clubs with nearly 300 athletes from the provinces of Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ngai, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Bac Ninh , Ninh Binh, Lam Dong. The Lion Dance teams compete in the following categories: Traditional Lion Dance; Traditional Dragon Dance; Lion Dance on a high pole; Lion Dance on a high pole for men and women; Speed ​​Dragon and Speed ​​Lion; Optional Dragon and Glowing Lion.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Trong Trinh, Vice President of the Vietnam Lion Dance Federation, emphasized: The 2025 National Lion Dance Club Championship is an opportunity for athletes from provinces and cities to compete and improve their professional skills; at the same time, he believes that the tournament will bring attractive competitions, beautiful performances, demonstrating bravery, martial spirit, solidarity and aspiration to rise up.

The tournament also contributes to creating motivation to promote the development of the Lion Dance training and competition movement across the country. This is also an opportunity to promote and introduce the image of the land and people of Dak Lak to people and tourists across the country.

The 2025 National Lion Dance Club Championship will take place until August 27.
