Opening of the Red River Festival 2025 - Vietnam-China Cooperation Week in the Red River Basin

On the morning of November 21, at the Thai Binh Lake International Conference Center (Di Lac city, Hong Ha district, Yunnan province, China), the Ninh Binh Provincial Delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Cao Son, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the opening ceremony of "Red River Festival 2025 - Vietnam-China Cooperation Week in the Red River Basin" and a series of dialogue activities on local cooperation in the Red River Basin between Vietnam and China.

Leaders of the two sides performed the button-pressing ceremony, declaring the opening of the Vietnam-China Red River Basin Cooperation Week.

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and Government of Honghe Province (China).

Comrade Nguyen Cao Son, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee attended the opening ceremony.

On the Vietnamese side, there were Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Consul General of Vietnam in Kunming; Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee (Head of the Vietnamese delegation) and leaders of People's Committees, departments, branches and sectors of provinces and cities along the Red River basin of the two countries.

Ms. La Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Chau Party Committee, Head of Hoang Ha Chau delivered a welcome speech.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, representatives of the leaders of Hong Ha prefecture and Yunnan province warmly welcomed the Vietnamese delegation; affirming that the Red River is a vital river connecting culture, history and trade between the two countries. The Red River Festival and Cooperation Week were organized to help localities on both sides enhance understanding, promote infrastructure and supply chain connectivity, and contribute to building a common prosperous economic corridor.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son briefly introduced the potentials and outstanding strengths of Ninh Binh after the merger of the three provinces of Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, and Ninh Binh (old).

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Ninh Binh is currently one of the three modern automobile mechanical industry centers of Vietnam, and also owns the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex. The province is focusing on developing in the direction of "Fast, Sustainable and Harmonious", with green industry and tourism as the spearhead. At this forum, Ninh Binh hopes to promote infrastructure connectivity, cooperate in developing ecological industrial parks and build logistics supply chains with Chinese localities.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the leaders of the two sides performed the button-pressing ceremony, declaring the opening of the Vietnam-China Red River Basin Cooperation Week and a series of dialogue activities on local cooperation in the Red River Basin between Vietnam and China.

Within the framework of the program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son had a meeting and paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Consul General of Vietnam in Kunming.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee introduced the province's new development space; expressed his hope that the Consulate General would continue to pay attention and be a bridge to support and promote cooperation between Ninh Binh province and Chinese partners, especially in attracting strategic investors in high technology and tourism.

Responding to the leaders of Ninh Binh province, Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Consul General of Vietnam in Kunming, highly appreciated the province's proactiveness and positivity; at the same time, affirmed that he will always accompany and create favorable conditions to connect Ninh Binh with potential partners in Yunnan and China.
