On April 15, at Tenjin Park in Fukuoka City, Japan, the Vietnam Festival in Fukuoka 2023 named "Hope" opened.
The festival took place over two days from April 15-16, organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan in coordination with the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Festival in Tokyo, the Vietnamese Association in Fukuoka, and the Kyushu-Vietnam Business Association.
The opening ceremony received the attention of local leaders and departments. Guests attending the event included Mr. Shojima Ryosuke, Deputy Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture; Mr. Ito Yoshito, Chairman of the Fukuoka City Council; Mr. Inatomi Shuji, Member of the House of Representatives; Mr. Kuratomi Sumio, Chairman of the Kyushu Economic Federation; Mr. Kubota Kazuhiro, Head of the International Committee of Fukuoka City; Mr. Goto Motohide, Mayor of Buzen City. There were also congratulatory letters from governors in the Kyushu region.

In her opening speech, Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Chairwoman of the Festival Organizing Committee, expressed her gratitude to the leaders and authorities of Fukuoka for creating favorable conditions for organizing the festival, and Vietnam Airlines for sponsoring the program.
The Consul General emphasized that through the festival named “Hope”, the Organizing Committee wishes to convey the message of the wishes and aspirations of the people of Vietnam and Japan together towards a peaceful and developed future. The people of the two countries join hands to promote exchanges in many fields based on solidarity, friendship and equality.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Shojima Ryosuke, Deputy Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, thanked the Vietnamese community living and studying in Fukuoka in particular and the Kyushu region in general for their contributions to building and developing the Kyushu region, and wished to work together to foster the friendship and cultural traditions between Vietnam and Japan to grow stronger and more sustainable.

The event is one of the programs in the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka. The festival attracted the attention of many people, young Japanese people and the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the Kyushu region.
On this occasion, nearly 30 companies participated with 20 booths at the fair to introduce Vietnamese-Japanese handicraft, health care and culinary products.

In particular, at the Fair, there was a booth of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka introducing images of Vietnam, the country and its people, displaying books and leaflets promoting tourism and scenic spots of Vietnam; a booth of the International Department of Fukuoka Prefecture introducing images of the province's cooperative relationship with Vietnam since the establishment of the Consulate General in 2009; a booth of the Fukuoka Immigration Bureau introducing the Law on Entry into Japan and instructions on residence law for Vietnamese people. In addition, there was a booth introducing the Vovinam martial art, which was of great interest to young people.
The Festival's art program is also an opportunity for cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Japanese youth with songs praising love for the homeland, country and people.
