To date, the city has had more than 2,700 trademark registration applications, of which more than 1,800 trademarks have been granted protection certificates; there are 74 collective trademarks, 9 certification trademarks and 4 geographical indications recorded, including: Hue cajeput essential oil, Hue conical hat, Hue pomelo and Hue apricot.

This result not only shows an increase in quantity, but also affirms the change in awareness and action of organizations, individuals and businesses in considering brands as "assets", "competitive tools" in economic development and building local brands. In particular, many typical products of Hue have affirmed their position in the domestic market and gradually reached out to the international market, such as Thien Huong sesame candy, Hue royal tea, Hue cajuput essential oil, Hue pomelo...

Along with that, the Department of Science and Technology has supported the implementation of electronic traceability stamps for a number of key products, initially supporting digitalization and management of product value chains, creating an important foundation to bring Hue brands further in the digital age.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Tran Thi Thuy Yen said that developing brand value is not only about registration and protection, but also about the process of managing, promoting and effectively commercializing products. Hue City clearly identified this as part of the innovation ecosystem, specified in Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Plan 295/KH-UBND of the City People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development.

The workshop also focused on groups of solutions to exploit and develop local brand values: Improve the effectiveness of brand management and protection; build and affirm the core values ​​of the brand; promote multi-channel communication and marketing (digital transformation); expand and develop sustainable brands. The Department of Science and Technology is committed to continuing to accompany, support and create the most favorable environment for Hue's ideas, products and brands to develop sustainably, linking intellectual values ​​with cultural values ​​and Hue people.
