Opening of the first and most modern Logistics Park in Vietnam
On December 11, at Dong Dang border gate economic zone, Lang Son province, Viettel inaugurated the first Logistics Park in Vietnam with the most modern and synchronous infrastructure today.
National logistics infrastructure project
Viettel Logistics Park is a key project in Viettel Group's national logistics infrastructure development strategy. Viettel Logistics Park has the mission of becoming a trade bridge connecting 700 million ASEAN people with the 1.4 billion Chinese market, contributing to positioning Vietnam as a strategic logistics center of Southeast Asia.
Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, shared that the world is entering a new era, where logistics is not only a freight transport activity but has become a key industry, determining the competitiveness of countries on the global economic map. In Vietnam, logistics currently contributes about 5-6% of GDP and is growing rapidly. However, we still face major challenges such as high logistics costs, unsynchronized infrastructure, and lack of connection between modes of transport. Viettel Post's logistics sector was born in that context.
The logistics infrastructure that Viettel Post is building will have the mission of being the foundation for forming a modern, synchronous logistics network, helping to connect Vietnamese goods from production, domestic consumption to international import and export, optimizing the supply chain, reducing logistics costs, turning Vietnam into an attractive destination on the global trade map.

In the coming time, Viettel Post will complete the network of logistics centers nationwide, serving key economic areas with 5 orientations: Smart border gates; Agricultural logistics center; Logistics center in industrial parks; Supply chain infrastructure; Multimodal transport network.
“All of these create a smart, automated, multi-modal logistics ecosystem, from road, rail, waterway to aviation, contributing to making Vietnam an important logistics center of the region, implementing the spirit of Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee, which emphasized the role of logistics infrastructure in connecting and improving the efficiency of the economy,” Mr. Thang emphasized.
Mr. Thang also assigned Viettel Post to continue to strengthen technology integration and comprehensive automation: applying the most modern technologies, helping to optimize operational processes with the aim of continuously optimizing time and costs. Along with that, Viettel Post continues to provide suitable logistics solutions at competitive costs, helping Vietnamese businesses easily access the global market. The goal by 2030, ViettelPost will become the leading logistics brand in Southeast Asia. At the same time, applying green logistics solutions, minimizing environmental impacts and contributing to the country's sustainable development goals.
Synchronous infrastructure, the most modern technology in Vietnam
Viettel Logistics Park covers an area of 143.7 hectares with a total investment of more than 3,300 billion VND. Viettel Logistics Park is a logistics center with the most modern and synchronous infrastructure in Vietnam. This is also the first logistics park in Vietnam, providing professional, comprehensive import-export logistics services including: customs clearance, quarantine, inspection, transshipment, warehousing, transportation and cross-border transportation.
Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh, General Director of Viettel Post, said that Viettel Logistics Park is fully integrated with customs clearance, import and export functions, post-harvest preservation areas, Vietnam agricultural product trading center... In addition, the project also has other value-added services such as: Container repair workshop, car repair, car wash, gas station; Classification, packaging, labeling of goods; Food processing and canning, small production; Hotels and accommodation, restaurants, entertainment; Offices for rent: banks, logistics companies, supermarkets...; Product display; Goods exhibition; Railway station warehouse.
Phase 1 of the 58-hectare project will be completed in December 2024. Phase 1 capacity is 336,000 trucks/year, equivalent to 930 trucks/day, and will increase to 561,000 trucks/day by 2030.

According to Mr. Thanh, Viettel Logistics Park combined with the smart border gate project provides a complete logistics solution including: Transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, quarantine, import-export... right inland. Thus, a closed supply chain for cross-border logistics will be formed, expected to shorten customs clearance time by 40%, improve warehouse efficiency by 30% and reduce warehouse management costs by 25%.
Viettel Logistics Park includes an agricultural product trading center, connecting high-quality agricultural products from Vietnam, China, Thailand and many other countries in the region. With a modern post-harvest preservation system, it helps maintain quality while waiting for customs clearance. This not only increases product value but also expands consumption opportunities, bringing great benefits to farmers.
In particular, advanced technologies and an optimally designed process system, directly connected to the customs data system of Vietnam, China and other authorities, help reduce customs clearance time from 4-5 days to less than 24 hours. This is especially meaningful for agricultural and aquatic products - items with strict requirements on time and preservation.
“Border congestion is a painful problem in agricultural exports, causing damage and great losses to people. A container of dragon fruit or watermelon costs 200-300 million VND but costs up to 100 million VND in transportation costs. Sometimes it is damaged due to border congestion and the price is forced down to a few thousand VND/kg, so farmers are crying for their products. Items such as fruit must go through many safety checks before being exported to China. In the old way, it took 3 to 4 days or even longer to clear a regular container, but with Logistics Park it will only take 24 hours,” said Mr. Thanh.
At the Park, the Exhibition and Trade Livestreams Area is organized into a space to organize trade promotion activities, introduce products and services, and promote e-commerce through livestreams promoting products on online platforms, helping businesses connect directly with the global market.
Viettel Logistics Park is a place that applies the most modern technologies in the logistics industry today such as TMS transport management system, WMS smart warehouse management system, Digital Twin technology digitizes data from IoT devices, Smart gate increases the speed of vehicle processing and customs clearance of goods up to 3 times faster than traditional methods. 6-dimensional automatic X-Ray screening system, Automatic loading area using telescospic conveyor helps reduce the time to transfer goods between 2 containers to only 30-40 minutes instead of 3 hours as in the traditional way...
Notably, the E-commerce and Express Delivery Processing Area uses an autonomous AGV robot system owned by Viettel Post, combined with the DWS automatic identification and classification system, an automatic screening system capable of monitoring, checking, and clearing 600,000 parcels/day...
Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy General Director of Viettel Post, said that the Logistics Park was built with the most advanced technologies including a combination of automation applications, AI... and minimal human intervention in the process, to improve operational capacity, shorten time to ensure cargo safety. Currently, the Logistics Park has 10 core technology systems such as robots, self-driving cars, automatic delivery drones... researched, assembled and mastered by Viettel.
