Opening of the Press Center serving the Hanoi Party Congress

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of October 14, Hanoi City inaugurated the Press Center serving the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term at the National Convention Center, contributing to spreading the spirit of the 18th Congress to the people of the capital and the whole country.

Attending the opening ceremony were Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the City Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Truong Viet Dung.

The 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee will take place from October 15 to 17, 2025 at the National Convention Center, with the task of reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Congress; determining the direction and tasks for the development of the capital in the 2025-2030 period, with a vision to 2045; electing the 18th Executive Committee and the Delegation to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

On August 6, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee issued Decision No. 9499-QD/TU on the establishment of the Press Center to serve the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee. According to Decision No. 9499-QD/TU, the Press Center to serve the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee consists of 18 comrades and is directed by Comrade Dao Xuan Dung - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Education Department of the Hanoi Party Committee.

The Press Center is responsible for providing official information about the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee under the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to central, local and Hanoi press agencies.

Speaking at the opening of the Press Center, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee Dao Xuan Dung emphasized that inheriting and promoting the achievements and experience of nearly 40 years of innovation, the Hanoi Party Committee has made efforts and creatively applied the Central Resolutions to the specific conditions of the Capital, achieving many outstanding results, making great contributions to the overall achievements of the whole country.

Following the leadership of the Central Committee, the Hanoi Party Committee has focused on building and rectifying a strong Party and political system; innovating leadership methods, improving the capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and the quality of cadres; solving many big, new and difficult problems, creating a foundation for rapid and sustainable development.

The city has made a breakthrough in perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies, notably Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW of the Politburo , the Capital Law 2024, along with many resolutions, directives and projects in key areas such as: building a team of officials, developing cultural industries, digital transformation, building a smart city.

After 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress, Hanoi completed 16/20 targets, of which 4 targets exceeded the plan, completed 1-2 years early. The capital's economy grew by an average of 6.57%, higher than the national average; budget revenue exceeded estimates, and economic structure shifted positively. Culture, education, health, science - technology and digital transformation achieved many outstanding achievements, especially Project 06 and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW were effectively implemented. People's lives are increasingly improved and by 2024, Hanoi will have no poor households according to the City's standards.

Urban planning and development were promoted, many key projects were completed; the environment was improved, including the To Lich River pollution treatment project. Political security and social order and safety were maintained; foreign relations were expanded, enhancing the position and prestige of the capital.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee has a particularly important meaning, guiding the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the capital to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity, contributing to building a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Hanoi, pioneering with the whole country to enter an era of prosperous and powerful development.

To contribute to bringing information about the Congress to cadres, party members and people, on August 6, 2025, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee issued Decision No. 9499-QD/TU on the establishment of the Press Center to serve the 18th Congress of the City Party Committee. The Center has 18 members, including 1 Director, 5 Deputy Directors and 12 members.

The Press Center will operate from October 14 to 17, 2025 at the National Convention Center. During the Congress, the Center will direct and guide press activities, organize the issuance of press releases after each working session and hold a press conference to announce the results of the Congress on the afternoon of October 17, 2025.

The Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department affirmed that the Press Center is equipped with modern facilities, demonstrating the deep concern of the City's leaders for communication work. The Center will be the focal point for providing official, fast and convenient information to reporters, contributing to spreading the spirit of the 18th Congress to the people of the Capital and the whole country.
