On October 16, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association coordinated with the Ministry of Health , Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and accompanying units to organize a health consultation program, medical examination and gift giving to support people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods in Anh Son commune, Nghe An province.

This is a practical activity to share and encourage people in the storm center to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after being heavily affected by two storms No. 10 (Bualoi) and No. 11 (Matmo).

More than 50 doctors, pharmacists and medical volunteers from central and local hospitals directly participated in examining, providing health consultation and distributing free medicine to 1,000 people, with special priority given to poor households, policy families, pregnant women, the elderly and children.

In addition to general medical examination, the program also includes internal medicine, digestive, cardiovascular, eye, dermatology, and ear, nose, and throat specialties, along with post-storm care and disease prevention advice, and the receipt of practical gifts.

In addition, the delegation presented 1,000 gifts and basic medical equipment to two commune health stations, including portable ultrasound machines, blood pressure monitors, electrocardiogram machines, medicine cabinets, etc., and partially supported the livelihoods of severely damaged households, with a total mobilized resource of more than 730 million VND.

These funds and materials are contributed by many businesses, organizations and generous individuals, including medicines, medical equipment, nutritional gifts and essential products.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the pioneering and compassionate spirit of the young medical team, and affirmed the profound humanitarian significance of the program. The support not only provided medicine, equipment and gifts, but also spread the spirit of mutual love, helping people gain more confidence and determination to rise up after natural disasters.

The activity in Nghe An is the opening point in the series of programs "Young doctors for community health - Joining hands to overcome the consequences of storms and floods" launched by the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, targeting provinces heavily affected by storms and floods. Through this series of activities, the Association hopes to continue spreading the humanistic values, solidarity and responsibility of the health sector towards community health, especially in difficult areas after natural disasters./.
