Within the framework of his working visit and participation in the "Russian Energy Week" Forum in Moscow, on the afternoon of October 15, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son had a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Novak.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak thanked Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the Vietnamese delegation for accepting the invitation and actively participating in the forum's activities; affirmed that Russia always attaches importance to promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam and highly appreciated the positive developments in bilateral economic and trade cooperation in recent times, especially the specific results achieved by the two sides in the field of energy and oil and gas cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak emphasized that the Russian Government pays attention to and always closely directs ministries, branches and localities to promptly and effectively implement agreements reached during visits by high-ranking leaders of the two countries, focusing on resolving outstanding issues to improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son thanked Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak and the forum's organizing committee for the warm and thoughtful reception for the Vietnamese delegation, affirmed his determination to work with the Russian Government to effectively implement cooperation agreements as well as continuously promote the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; acknowledged the joint efforts of the two countries' ministries and sectors to continuously expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of ensuring energy security with many specific projects being promoted.
The two sides agreed that over the past time, the Governments and agencies, ministries and sectors of the two countries have made strong efforts to implement high-level agreements reached during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Russia; many documents and projects have been deployed, and a number of outstanding issues are being actively handled, contributing to bringing bilateral cooperation into a new phase of increasingly effective, substantive and trustworthy cooperation.
Discussing the energy sector, the two sides agreed to increase exchanges and speed up preparations to effectively implement the Protocols and Agreements on expanding cooperation in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation signed in May and taking effect in October this year; and to study expanding cooperation to other fields such as wind power, green energy, renewable energy and providing services, building infrastructure, and logistics for energy and oil and gas.
Also during his visit to Russia and attendance at the Forum, on October 15-16, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received leaders of prominent Russian enterprises operating in the energy-oil and gas sector such as Zarubezhneft oil and gas company, Novatek natural gas company and Rosatom nuclear energy corporation.
At the meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the desire and efforts of the corporations in seeking opportunities and promoting specific cooperation projects with Vietnam; affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is interested in and supports businesses of the two countries to proactively exchange directly, sign and implement contracts and cooperation projects in accordance with the laws of the two countries and international law, ensuring harmony of interests between the two sides, creating new symbols for the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming decades.
Leaders of Russian corporations expressed their gratitude for the Government's attention and close direction in implementing the high-level agreements reached; affirmed that they consider Vietnam a very potential market and wish to have more opportunities to expand investment cooperation in Vietnam.

Enterprises pledged to work with Vietnamese partners to effectively implement agreements and commitments between high-ranking leaders of the two countries, especially in the fields of oil and gas, nuclear power and the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, ensuring energy security, serving Vietnam's development goals and the framework of warm and trustworthy relations between the two countries.
On the occasion of attending the "Russian Energy Week" Forum, on the afternoon of October 14 local time, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and had a friendly talk with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation.
After listening to Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi report on the positive steps in Vietnam-Russia relations, especially after General Secretary To Lam's visit to Russia in May with enhanced political trust, more substantive and effective economic-trade cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the country is carefully preparing to enter a new era, in which the Party Central Committee and the Politburo have and will continue to issue resolutions to create breakthroughs in development in key areas such as science, technology, innovation, digital transformation; international integration in the new situation; building and perfecting institutions; developing the private economy; ensuring energy security; developing education and training...
On this occasion, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation for its outstanding achievements in consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam-Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024./.
