According to the report of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai City, due to the influence of strong northeast winds causing big waves, in recent days, the coastal area in Pho An village has suffered serious landslides; the sea has eroded into the concrete embankment for a length of about 40m, 0.5m deep. Currently, the landslide continues to increase in scale, affecting the safety of lives and houses of 30 households living in the area; at the same time, threatening the safety of the embankment against coastal landslides in Pho Truong village.

To cope with coastal erosion, the city has directed local authorities to demarcate the landslide area, proactively reinforce it with boulders and place warning signs to ensure the safety of residents and tourists. At the same time, it regularly monitors the situation of high tides and big waves in this area to promptly inform households and proactively prevent them.

In the long term, the local government and people hope that the State will have a solution to prevent coastal erosion in Pho An village, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property in the affected area; as well as protecting the safety of the Pho Truong coastal embankment.

After inspecting the actual landslide situation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien requested local authorities to continue to closely monitor the landslide situation, and at the same time arrange shock forces to promptly respond and reinforce the coast when landslides occur.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shall take the lead in coordinating with the City People's Committee and relevant departments, agencies and units to urgently implement measures to prevent coastal erosion and encroachment. Research and advise the province on solutions and plans to prevent coastal erosion in Pho An village, in order to protect the safety of residential areas and state works.
