Urgent repair of North-South railway after flood

QNgTV- Floods in the Central region have damaged 61 locations on the North-South railway line, disrupting passenger transport for many days. As soon as the water receded, the railway industry mobilized more than 1,000 workers along with materials and equipment to urgently repair the line to soon reopen it.

Particularly in the two sections of Dong Tac - Phu Hiep and Phu Hiep - Hao Son, which suffered the most damage, more than 300 workers were mobilized, divided into 3 shifts, 4 teams working continuously day and night.

From Dieu Tri station to Thap Cham station, the floods caused landslides and damage at 61 points, of which 51 points have been repaired, the remaining 10 points are still under repair. Currently, passenger transport activities are still temporarily interrupted.

Trains from the South stop at Gia station ( Khanh Hoa ), while trains from the North stop at Tuy Hoa station. Passengers are transferred between the two stations to ensure the journey.

According to the latest update, on the evening of November 24, the first freight train passed through the Phu Hiep - Dong Tac section safely.

It is expected that tonight or early tomorrow morning, the North-South railway will completely repair the damage and reopen.
