Ahead of the opening of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026, in an interview with Da Nang newspapers and radio and television, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Head of the Organizing Committee of DIFF 2026, emphasized that with thorough preparation, this year's festival is expected to continue to affirm its attractiveness and contribute to positioning Da Nang as a leading event and festival destination in Asia.
* Madam, how has the city invested in new and attractive features for DIFF this year compared to previous festivals?

DIFF 2026, themed “Da Nang – Connecting Horizons,” resembles an “All-Star season,” bringing together many champions, long-standing fireworks brands, and teams with outstanding achievements in international competitions. In addition, this year's DIFF also features new teams, promising to bring more fresh, creative, and captivating performance styles to the audience.
One of the standout new features of DIFF 2026 is the city's emphasis on a "multi-experience festival" concept, not just fireworks but also connecting 27 accompanying activities in culture, art, film, sports , commerce, entertainment, etc., taking place throughout the city.
In addition, this year's organization has seen more comprehensive investment in infrastructure and audience experience. The stage and grandstands have been upgraded to accommodate over 10,000 people each night. The city has also installed additional sound systems along Bach Dang and Tran Hung Dao streets to allow people to enjoy the fireworks display outside the grandstand area.
In terms of artistry, the performances are designed in a modern, highly interactive style, combining stage technology, sound, and lighting, with the participation of many famous artists.
* To date, what preparations have the relevant departments and units made to ensure the festival is attractive, vibrant, and safe?

The city recognizes this not only as an important international cultural and tourism event, but also as an opportunity to promote the image of Da Nang as a dynamic, modern, and friendly city to domestic and international friends. Therefore, the overarching requirement is to ensure absolute safety for residents and tourists while also ensuring that the festival is attractive and professional.
To date, the main items serving the festival, such as the stage, grandstands, and basic technical systems, have been largely completed and are being thoroughly reviewed and inspected for safety standards, fire prevention and control, and emergency exits before being officially put into operation.
Detailed plans have been developed for security, public order, traffic safety, traffic diversion and regulation, deployment of personnel in key areas, rescue operations, and fire prevention and control.
The city also pays special attention to healthcare, environmental sanitation, urban beautification, reception, and support for tourists to present an image of Da Nang as a civilized, hospitable, and professional city.
It can be affirmed that, with thorough preparation, close coordination of relevant departments and units, and years of experience in organizing events, Da Nang city is making its utmost efforts to ensure that DIFF 2026 continues to be a safe, successful, impressive festival, leaving many beautiful memories in the hearts of the people and tourists.

DIFF 2026 is expected to continue creating a "double boost" for Da Nang, not only promoting tourism growth but also providing strong impetus for the night-time economy, high-end services, and elevating the city's image on the international event map.
Based on the experience of recent DIFF seasons, especially DIFF 2025, it can be affirmed that the fireworks festival is no longer simply a cultural and entertainment event, but has become a "growth engine" for the entire tourism and service ecosystem of the city.
In particular, the structure of tourists is clearly shifting towards higher quality. Tourists are not only visiting and relaxing but are also willing to pay for products with high experiential value and international standard healthcare services.
During the peak nights of DIFF, occupancy rates for 4-5 star hotels, cruise services, restaurants, transportation, and airlines all experienced exceptional growth, demonstrating a significant ripple effect on the night-time economy.
It can be affirmed that DIFF 2026 is not only a summer festival but also a driving force for Da Nang to continue asserting its brand as "Asia's leading event and festival destination"; and at the same time, gradually realize the goal of becoming a leading tourism, event and cultural industry center in the region.

Therefore, building Da Nang into an international "city of events and festivals" is not only a tourism-oriented goal but also a strategic direction aimed at enhancing the city's status, brand, and competitiveness.
In that context, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is one of the key events, playing a particularly important role. Over the years, DIFF has gradually affirmed its prestige, scale, and international reach; becoming a distinctive cultural and tourism brand of Da Nang in particular and of Vietnam in general on the international stage.
The city expects that through DIFF, it will continue to form a professional event ecosystem, linking culture, tourism, entertainment, night-time economy, and high-quality services; thereby creating a foundation to attract more large-scale international events in the future.
