Khanh Binh aims to become a new dynamic center in the border region

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Binh Commune, Ta Van Khuong, said that the commune has a 15.6km long border (11.6km of river and 4km of road). This is a particularly important strategic location, both an international trade gateway and an inter-regional and inter-national connection center. From Chau Doc, follow Provincial Road 957 and National Highway 91C to Khanh Binh Border Gate, connecting with National Highway 21 of Cambodia through Long Binh - Chrey Thom Bridge, only 76km to the capital Phnom Penh (Kingdom of Cambodia).

In addition, Khanh Binh commune also has Hau River and Binh Di River - two vital waterways, creating outstanding advantages in developing border trade economy . In the area, there is Khanh Binh National Border Gate (expected to be upgraded to an international border gate by the end of 2025), Khanh An Sub-border Gate; 18.13ha border gate economic zone, with many logistics, warehouse, and goods transit enterprises... These are important conditions for Khanh Binh to develop comprehensively, in line with the orientation of "strong at the border, rich from the border".

In the 2025 - 2030 term, Khanh Binh Commune Party Committee has set many specific targets to strive for, such as: Total state budget revenue in 5 years reaches more than 5 billion VND; average annual growth rate of total product value in the area is 8 - 9%; total social investment capital in the period 2026 - 2030 reaches 1,000 billion VND. By 2030, the commune strives for average income per capita in the area to reach 90 million VND/year, an increase of 20% compared to 2025; poor households according to multidimensional standards below 1%.

Thanh Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Khanh Binh Commune Party Committee, said that in the 2025-2030 term, the Commune Party Committee will focus on building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations and the quality of cadres and Party members. In particular, the commune will effectively exploit the border economic advantages, develop trade, services, and tourism associated with the Khanh Binh and Bung Binh Thien National Border Gates.

The Khanh Binh Commune Party Committee has proposed many key solutions to promote comprehensive socio-economic development. Accordingly, the commune will promote economic restructuring towards services, high-tech agriculture, sustainable aquaculture; promote digital transformation. Take care of cultural, social and human development; improve the quality of education, health care and social security. Another important task is to maintain national defense and security; protect national border sovereignty . In addition, the commune expands cooperation and trade with localities and businesses at home and abroad, especially Cambodia.

According to Mr. Duong Thanh Phong, after the Khanh Binh Commune Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, the Commune Party Executive Committee issued a full-term action program, concretizing the congress resolution into plans and projects for each field, clearly assigning responsibilities. At the same time, the organization thoroughly disseminated and created unity in the entire political system and the people. The Party Committee identified 3 breakthroughs, which are: Developing traffic infrastructure, border trade; developing Bung Binh Thien eco-tourism associated with Cham culture and border advantages; developing commodity agriculture associated with processing and export markets. "With the tradition of solidarity, consensus of the people and high political determination, the Commune Party Committee will successfully implement the resolution, making Khanh Binh a driving force for the development of the northern border region of An Giang province", Mr. Duong Thanh Phong emphasized.
