The Naval Region 4 Command said that at 9:30 p.m. on July 1, the Son Ca Island Infirmary, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province received and promptly provided emergency care to fisherman Dinh Luat (born in 1993, from the former Binh Thuan Province), a crew member of fishing boat BT 97669TS, who had full-blown chickenpox while fishing in the Truong Sa fishing grounds.

The patient was brought to the infirmary in a conscious but slow-to-respond state, with a fever of 39.5 degrees Celsius, headache, nausea, dry cough, fatigue, and scattered blisters all over the body.

According to the patient, the symptoms appeared two days ago with blisters about the size of green beans, spreading all over the body, accompanied by high fever, cough, headache, and fatigue.

During his illness, Mr. Luat applied Methylene Blue himself but it did not improve. By the afternoon of July 1, due to the worsening condition, the fishing boat captain took the patient to Son Ca Island for emergency treatment.

Doctors at Son Ca Island Infirmary quickly examined and diagnosed the patient with chickenpox in the full-blown stage and treated him according to the protocol: intravenous fluids, antiviral drugs, antipyretics, sedatives, and topical antiseptics.

The process of receiving and treating patients was strictly implemented according to epidemic prevention and control regulations: wearing masks, isolating patients in separate rooms, and spraying disinfectants in the relevant areas. Currently, the patient continues to be monitored and actively treated, and his health has gradually stabilized.

The Command of Naval Region 4 highly appreciated the spirit of urgency, timeliness and efficiency of the medical team at Son Ca Island Infirmary in the emergency rescue of fisherman Dinh Luat; thereby showing the sense of responsibility, professional capacity and dedication to serving the people of the military medical force on the remote island.

Since the beginning of the year, medical facilities in Truong Sa district have provided emergency care and treatment to dozens of fishermen who fell ill while working in Truong Sa waters, contributing to protecting their health and lives and helping them feel secure at sea, maintaining the sovereignty of the Fatherland./.
