On September 1, information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, sent a document to the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee on the policy and orientation of urban development to serve the work of establishing the Urban Development Program to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposal of the Department of Construction and the consulting unit on the plan to upgrade Cam Ranh City and Cam Lam District into 2 districts.
Specifically, Khanh Hoa province retains 9 district-level administrative units including Nha Trang city; establishes 2 districts Cam Ranh and Cam Lam based on the population and area of Cam Ranh city and Cam Lam district.
This province will have 3 towns including Ninh Hoa town; establish Dien Khanh and Van Ninh towns based on the population and area of these 2 districts. The remaining 3 districts are Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh and Truong Sa.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee reports and asks for opinions from the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and reports to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for decision.

In addition to the above plan agreed upon by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Construction also proposed that the province be organized into 10 district-level administrative units.
In which, establish 2 districts based on population and area of Nha Trang city, can be named Vinh Xuong district and Nha Trang district, with Cai river as the boundary.
Along with that are 2 cities: Cam Ranh and Cam Lam; 3 towns: Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh and Van Ninh; 3 districts: Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh and Truong Sa.
However, after considering the advantages and disadvantages of the two options, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chose to have 9 district-level administrative units including Nha Trang City, 2 districts of Cam Ranh and Cam Lam, 3 towns and 3 districts.
