Inauguration of the first Skoda car factory in Vietnam

On the afternoon of March 26, 2025, Thanh Cong Group (TC Group) officially inaugurated and put into operation Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, which produces the first Skoda car models in Vietnam.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is part of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex in Viet Hung Industrial Park, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province. This is the 4th automobile factory of TC Group and the first Skoda in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia.

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Vietnam Hynek Kmonicek...

At this ceremony, the first Skoda Kushaq was officially launched , ready to enter commercial production and supply to the market in the second quarter of 2025. This is the next major result in the cooperation between TC Motor - a member unit of Thanh Cong Group and Skoda Auto.

This is the fourth automobile manufacturing plant of TC Group and the first Skoda in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia.

Skoda's automobile manufacturing plant in Vietnam will start construction in early 2023 on an area of 36.5 hectares, with a total designed capacity of 120,000 vehicles per year, ready to meet the latest trends in the automobile industry, first of all, the two models Kushaq (B-class SUV) and Slavia (B-class sedan).

To ensure synchronous operation, Thanh Cong Group has invested in an infrastructure system including a logistics warehouse, a general station, a wastewater treatment station and a 1.5km test track. This test track is designed to simulate a variety of real-life terrain conditions, to test the quality and performance of each vehicle model before leaving the factory.

According to the development plan, the factory's products will not only serve TC Group's modern automobile manufacturing and trading activities, but also aim for export. This will contribute to promoting the Vietnamese auto support industry to access regional and world markets.

Once operational, the plant will create many jobs for local and regional people, while also contributing positively to the provincial budget. This project is also an important driving force for businesses in the industry to connect, improve production capacity and expand cooperation opportunities with international partners, thereby promoting the domestic automobile industry to participate in the global automobile supply chain.
