Inauguration of the “Multi-purpose Sports Hall” in Kaysone Phomvihane City

Attending the ceremony, on the Lao side were Ms. Linh-Thong Seng-ta-van, Deputy Governor and Directors of the Department of Foreign Affairs , Department of Education and Sports, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Vice Chairman of Kaysone Phomvihane City. On the Vietnamese side were Ms. Dang Thi Hai Tam, Consul General of Vietnam in Savannakhet, Mr. Nguyen Luong, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Savannakhet and Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang City.

The representative of the local Vietnamese Association expressed his deep gratitude to the Party and Government of Vietnam for always paying attention to the Vietnamese community in Laos, thanked Da Nang City for supporting the project, thanked the leaders and departments of Savannakhet Province, Laos for always supporting the construction work to be implemented quickly and thanked the Vietnamese Consulate General for being a bridge between the Vietnamese community in Laos and localities of Vietnam.

The "Multi-purpose Sports House" project started construction in the second half of 2022 at the Laos - Vietnam Friendship High School - a school sponsored by the Party and Government of Vietnam to build on land granted by Savannakhet province to the Vietnamese Association of Savannakhet province. Since its inauguration in the 2020 - 2021 school year, the school has achieved many achievements in teaching and learning, has many excellent students at the provincial and national levels, and is one of the few schools in Laos that teaches Vietnamese from grade 1 to grade 3. The "Multi-purpose Sports House" was completed and will be put into use from the 2023 - 2024 school year. This project will help the school improve physicaleducation for students, making the school a comprehensive training model in Savannakhet province.
