It is known that from the end of the 16th century to the beginning of the 17th century, Hoi An was a major commercial port city of Dang Trong, an international trade transit point. In November 2016, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized Kim Bong carpentry in Cam Kim commune as a national intangible cultural heritage.
