- On the morning of July 29, the working delegation of the Vietnam Border Gate Management Cooperation Committee led by Major General Vo Tien Nghi, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, surveyed and worked with the Border Gate Working Subcommittee of Lang Son province on the method of transporting goods at Huu Nghi International Border Gate. The working delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Construction ; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Border Gate Department, Border Guard Command.
Attending and working with the delegation were comrade Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors and representatives of Bao Nguyen Commercial Transport Joint Stock Company; Huu Nghi Xuan Cuong Joint Stock Company.
According to the report of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, in the past time, import and export activities of goods through customs clearance and specialized roads of Huu Nghi International Border Gate have been smooth and have grown strongly compared to before. From August 1, 2024 to July 25, 2025, the total number of vehicles carrying import and export goods through customs clearance and specialized roads of Huu Nghi International Border Gate reached over 431,800 vehicles, an increase of 14% compared to the previous period and continued to increase gradually each month.
In addition, the number of empty vehicles in storage at the wharf has decreased significantly compared to before (the number of Vietnamese vehicles in the Po Chai area, China has decreased from over 1,000 vehicles to only about 500 vehicles), thereby reducing many additional costs for businesses.
As a result, the total import-export turnover of all types through the province in 2024 reached over 66 billion USD, an increase of 30% compared to 2023. Accumulated from January 1, 2025 to July 25, 2025, the total import-export turnover of all types through the province reached over 48 billion USD, an increase of 48% over the same period in 2024. In particular, on the peak day, the total number of import-export vehicles through road border gates in the province reached 2,007 vehicles, of which 571 vehicles were exported and 1,436 vehicles were imported. The work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods at the border gate area has been effectively implemented... Thereby showing the effectiveness of the method of goods delivery that the province is currently applying.
At the meeting, representatives of the provincial departments, branches and sectors further clarified the management and methods of transporting goods at the current Huu Nghi International Border Gate. Representatives of the Bao Nguyen Commercial Transport Joint Stock Company and Huu Nghi Xuan Cuong Joint Stock Company also pointed out the advantages and difficulties in the process of importing and exporting goods at the border gate; at the same time, they recommended and proposed the Provincial People's Committee, ministries and functional branches to discuss and agree to allow the transport of goods from third countries via the dedicated road at Tan Thanh - Po Chai border gate; continue to pay attention and remove difficulties for businesses to expand the area of wharfs, etc.
Speaking at the survey, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed and clarified more about the method of goods delivery that the province is applying at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate area; at the same time, emphasized the results that the province has achieved from the above method of goods transportation.
He also said that Lang Son province is continuing to research and perfect the method of receiving and delivering goods through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate area to ensure compliance with international agreements, domestic laws of each country and in accordance with practical situations and foreign affairs.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Vo Tien Nghi, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, agreed with the province's report and the comments and assessments of the working delegation.
He requested the Lang Son Provincial Border Gate Working Subcommittee to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct the review and completion of the method of goods delivery and receipt at Huu Nghi International Border Gate on the basis of ensuring harmonious interests between the two sides, in accordance with international agreements; continue to promote import and export activities, and customs clearance of goods through the province's border gates.
He also requested the Border Gate Department and the Border Guard Command to synthesize practical difficulties and proposals from Lang Son province and relevant parties to advise on unified and synchronous implementation solutions in the coming time.
Previously, the working group surveyed the actual method of transporting goods on the dedicated freight road in the area of landmark 1088/2-1089 and the area of landmark 1119-1120 at Huu Nghi International Border Gate; surveyed the activities at the bus station of Bao Nguyen Commercial Transport Joint Stock Company and Huu Nghi Xuan Cuong Joint Stock Company.
