Aspiration to elevate the heroic commune of Hoi An

During the past term, with the spirit of solidarity and high determination of the political system, the consensus of the people and businesses, Hoi An commune achieved and exceeded the targets set by the congress resolution. According to the Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Hoi An commune, Nguyen Thi Minh Kieu, Hoi An commune was established from the merger of Hoi An town, Hoa An commune and Hoa Binh commune. The commune Party Committee focused on leading the implementation of Party building and the political system; improving the effectiveness and efficiency of government management and operation; implementing well and completing the arrangement, consolidation and streamlining of the apparatus in accordance with the policy.

Along with that, the Party Committee of the commune innovated its leadership methods, working style and manner; promoted mass mobilization work, and strengthened the close relationship between the Party and the people. Patriotic emulation movements were promoted, attracting people to participate. The commune mobilized 73.4 billion VND to build 27 concrete bridges, upgrade 24 roads, buy 3 ambulances, build 296 solidarity houses and charity houses. To carry out the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic, the commune mobilized nearly 1.3 billion VND to support people in difficult circumstances and frontline forces. The annual administrative reform work is evaluated and classified as good by the province.

As a gateway commune, bordering Dong Thap province, a bright spot in the past term, the commune mobilized resources from the budget with a total investment of more than 302.7 billion VND to implement key projects, especially traffic infrastructure projects, promoting socio -economic development. The completed projects contributed to changing the appearance of the commune, facilitating the transportation and purchase of agricultural products by businesses and people, promoting production and consumption of goods.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Kieu said that the commune's economy continues to maintain a high growth rate, mobilizing many resources for investment in production and business, increasing the average income per capita by more than 80 million VND/year. The commune Party Committee focuses on leading the internal transformation associated with the application of science and technology to increase productivity, quality, and reduce product costs. Farmers have shifted the structure of crops and livestock, gradually reducing the area of ineffective rice cultivation to growing vegetables and fruit trees according to the value chain of 116 hectares, contributing to increasing the production value per hectare of agricultural land to 470 million VND. The commune has been granted a code for a 321.5-hectare growing area for rice, young corn, and taro; invested more than 25.7 billion VND in dredging 12 canals and ditches in the fields and reinforcing 11 dykes to prevent landslides...

On the basis of 2 old communes recognized as new rural areas, Hoi An alone will meet town standards in 2023, Hoi An commune (after the merger) will be invested in and completed according to urban criteria, promoting trade and service development, with 2,428 establishments, industry - handicrafts developing in both scale and quantity.

According to comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Kieu, in the 2025 - 2030 term, Hoi An Commune Party Committee determined that building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system is a key task; constantly innovating leadership methods, improving the capacity and quality of cadres and Party members, building a friendly, effective and efficient government to serve the people. In particular, maximizing the advantages after the merger, especially the geographical location adjacent to Dong Thap province, Hoi An commune is oriented towards comprehensive development on the basis of high-quality agriculture, processing industry, trade, services and urbanization. Converting crop structure, expanding the area of growing high-value crops and fruit trees; developing clusters of rice milling factories, forming a value chain of production - processing - consumption. Focus on urban development in the center, upgrade traffic infrastructure, lighting, environment, trade, services, gradually forming a modern, civilized urban area, creating new growth momentum. Strengthen regional linkages, especially with neighboring communes and Dong Thap province in large-scale agricultural production and product consumption linkages...

With the highest political determination, the Party Committee of the heroic commune of Hoi An will turn aspirations into reality, promote the role of political nucleus, exploit potentials and advantages, and bring Hoi An to comprehensive, sustainable, dynamic, civilized, modern and livable development.
