Rewarding the brave railway crossing guard who saved a person

On the afternoon of April 17, the Emulation and Reward Council of Dong Nai province awarded a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to Mr. Trinh Dung (37 years old, barrier guard, Bien Hoa Railway Team, Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company).

In addition, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee and Trang Bom District People's Committee also commended Mr. Trinh Dung.

Dong Nai Province Traffic Safety Committee has unexpectedly rewarded Mr. Dung (second from right) for his brave act of saving people.

Previously, at around 10:40 p.m. on April 7, Mr. Dung was on duty at the level crossing with the railway through Phu Son hamlet, Bac Son commune (Km 1682 + 385, Trang Bom district).

Because the HH8 freight train was about to pass, Mr. Dung pulled down the barrier to block the road. Suddenly, a man standing on the side of the road jumped over the barrier to rush into the moving train.

Seeing that, Mr. Dung quickly rushed from his guard position, pulled the man's hand close to the barrier, avoiding collision with the train.

Mr. Dung shared the moment he saved the man from danger.

Mr. Dung said that at that time he did not have time to think much, he just used all his strength to pull and hold the man.

"When the train passed and the man was safe, I stopped worrying and breathed a sigh of relief," said Mr. Dung.

On April 16, Vietnam Railways Corporation also rewarded Mr. Dung for his achievements in ensuring railway traffic safety.
